পরিদর্শনকালে BAB-এর মহাপরিচালক জনাব মোহাম্মদ আমিনুল ইসলাম সংস্থার কার্যক্রম, অর্জন এবং ভবিষ্যৎ পরিকল্পনা সম্পর্কে একটি উপস্থাপনা প্রদান করেন। এ সময় BAB-এর অন্যান্য কর্মকর্তা ও কর্মচারীগণ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

সচিব মহোদয় দেশের সামগ্রিক সামাজিক ও অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নে BAB-এর কার্যক্রমের গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট অংশীজনদের মধ্যে অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন সম্পর্কে ব্যাপক জনসচেতনতা সৃষ্টির জন্য কার্যকর উদ্যোগ গ্রহণের ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন।

তিনি আরও নির্দেশনা প্রদান করেন যে, BAB-এর কর্মকর্তা ও মূল্যায়নকারীদের (Assessors) দক্ষতা ও সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে GLOBAL ACI, APAC এবং অন্যান্য প্রাসঙ্গিক আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থার আয়োজিত প্রশিক্ষণ ও কারিগরি কর্মসূচিতে নিয়মিত অংশগ্রহণ নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।

বাংলাদেশে গুণগত অবকাঠামো শক্তিশালীকরণ, আন্তর্জাতিক স্বীকৃতি অর্জন এবং বাণিজ্য সম্প্রসারণে BAB-এর ভূমিকা আরও কার্যকর ও গতিশীল হবে বলে তিনি আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেন।

Secretary, Ministry of Industries Visits Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB)

Mr. Abdun Naser Khan, Secretary, Ministry of Industries, visited the office of the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) on 15 June 2026.

During the visit, Mr. Mohd. Aminul Islam, Director General of BAB, delivered a presentation highlighting the activities, achievements, and future plans of the Board. Officials and staff members of BAB were also present on the occasion.

The Secretary emphasized the significant role of BAB in the country's overall socio-economic development and stressed the need for taking effective initiatives to raise awareness about accreditation among stakeholders and the general public.

He also underscored the importance of continuously enhancing the competence of BAB’s assessors and officers through participation in training and technical programs organized by GLOBAL ACI, APAC, and other relevant international organizations.

The Secretary expressed his expectation that BAB will continue to strengthen the national quality infrastructure, support international recognition, and contribute to the growth of trade and industry through its accreditation activities.

Amanur Rahman, Managing Director of Dysin Group was present during his visit. He visited the Laboratory during it's surveillance assessment by BAB.

বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন বোর্ড (বিএবি)-এর উদ্যোগে ‘বিশ্ব অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন দিবস-২০২৬’ উদযাপন উপলক্ষে মঙ্গলবার (৯ জুন) রাজধানীর আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা ইনস্টিটিউট মিলনায়তনে এক বিশেষ আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

এ বছরের প্রতিপাদ্য ছিল ‘Innovation, Trust and Sustainability: The Power of Accreditation’ (উদ্ভাবন, আস্থা ও টেকসই উন্নয়ন: অ্যাক্রেডিটেশনের শক্তি)।

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন শিল্প, বাণিজ্য এবং বস্ত্র ও পাট মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় মন্ত্রী খন্দকার আব্দুল মুক্তাদির। অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন বোর্ডের (বিএবি) চেয়ারম্যান ও শিল্প মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব মো. ওবায়দুর রহমান।

অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন বোর্ডের মহাপরিচালক মোহাম্মদ আমিনুল ইসলাম। দিবসটির প্রতিপাদ্যের ওপর মূল প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন মিলিটারি ইনস্টিটিউট অব সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি (এমআইএসটি)-এর সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. মো. তোহিদ উর রহমান।

আলোচনা সভায় শিল্প মন্ত্রণালয়ের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তা, সরকারি ও বেসরকারি বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রধান, মান ও অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন খাতের বিশেষজ্ঞ, বাণিজ্য সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধি এবং শিল্প ও ব্যবসায়ী খাতের অংশীজনরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

সভাপতির বক্তব্যে শিল্প মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব ও বিএবি চেয়ারম্যান মো. ওবায়দুর রহমান বলেন, বাংলাদেশ বিশ্বের সঙ্গে তাল মিলিয়ে ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্য সম্প্রসারণ এবং আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে নিজেদের অবস্থান আরও সুদৃঢ় করতে চায়। এ ক্ষেত্রে অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে। তিনি বলেন, কোনো পণ্য বা সেবার গুণগত মান নিশ্চিত না হলে বাজারে আস্থা তৈরি করা সম্ভব নয়। আর সেই আস্থা প্রতিষ্ঠার অন্যতম কার্যকর মাধ্যম হলো অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন।

তিনি আরও বলেন, বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন বোর্ড আন্তর্জাতিক মানদণ্ড অনুসরণ করে দেশের মান অবকাঠামোকে শক্তিশালী করতে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। আন্তর্জাতিক বিভিন্ন স্বীকৃতি ও সদস্যপদ অর্জনের ফলে দেশের অ্যাক্রেডিটেড পরীক্ষাগার, পরিদর্শন ও সার্টিফিকেশন প্রতিষ্ঠানের সক্ষমতা ও গ্রহণযোগ্যতা বিশ্বব্যাপী বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। এর মাধ্যমে দেশীয় পণ্য ও সেবার আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে প্রবেশ সহজতর হচ্ছে এবং রপ্তানি বাণিজ্যের নতুন সম্ভাবনা সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে।

স্বাগত বক্তব্যে বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন বোর্ডের মহাপরিচালক মোহাম্মদ আমিনুল ইসলাম বলেন, এবারের প্রতিপাদ্য ‘Innovation, Trust and Sustainability: The Power of Accreditation’ বর্তমান বৈশ্বিক অর্থনীতির বাস্তবতায় অত্যন্ত তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ। চতুর্থ শিল্প বিপ্লবের যুগে প্রযুক্তিগত রূপান্তর, জটিল বৈশ্বিক সরবরাহ ব্যবস্থা এবং জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের মতো চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবিলায় পণ্য ও সেবার প্রতি আস্থা নিশ্চিত করা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন সেই আস্থা তৈরির একটি শক্তিশালী অনুঘটক হিসেবে কাজ করে।

তিনি বলেন, ‘বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন আইন, ২০০৬’-এর আওতায় প্রতিষ্ঠিত বিএবি জাতীয় মান অবকাঠামো উন্নয়ন ও শক্তিশালীকরণে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করছে। আন্তর্জাতিক মানদণ্ড অনুযায়ী অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন সেবা প্রদানের মাধ্যমে দেশের পণ্য ও সেবার মানোন্নয়ন নিশ্চিত হচ্ছে, যা ‘মেইড ইন বাংলাদেশ’ ব্র্যান্ডের আন্তর্জাতিক গ্রহণযোগ্যতা এবং রপ্তানি সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি করছে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, বিএবি ইতোমধ্যে এশিয়া প্যাসিফিক অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কো-অপারেশন (APAC), গ্লোবাল অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কো-অপারেশন (Global ACI) এর সদস্যপদ অর্জনের মাধ্যমে আন্তর্জাতিক স্বীকৃতির নতুন দিগন্ত উন্মোচন করেছে। এর ফলে বিএবি কর্তৃক অ্যাক্রেডিটেড প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর সনদ আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে অধিক গ্রহণযোগ্যতা পাচ্ছে, যা বৈদেশিক বাণিজ্য সম্প্রসারণ এবং ব্যবসা সহজীকরণে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখছে।

বক্তারা বলেন, খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা, স্বাস্থ্যসেবা, শিল্পপণ্য ও সেবার গুণগত মান নিশ্চিতকরণ, পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণ, কৃষি ও মৎস্য খাতের উন্নয়ন, তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি ও সাইবার নিরাপত্তা, ভোক্তা সুরক্ষা এবং টেকসই শিল্পায়নের ক্ষেত্রে অ্যাক্রেডিটেশনের গুরুত্ব ক্রমেই বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। একটি নিরাপদ, অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক, টেকসই এবং আন্তর্জাতিক মানসম্পন্ন অর্থনীতি গড়ে তুলতে অ্যাক্রেডিটেশনকে জাতীয় অগ্রাধিকারের বিষয় হিসেবে গুরুত্ব দেওয়ার ওপর বক্তারা জোর দেন।

অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণকারীরা দেশের অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন ব্যবস্থাকে আরও আধুনিক, গতিশীল ও আন্তর্জাতিক মানসম্পন্ন করার প্রত্যয় ব্যক্ত করেন এবং বিশ্ব অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন দিবস-২০২৬-এর সকল কর্মসূচির সফলতা কামনা করেন।

Special discussion meeting held on the occasion of World Accreditation Day-2026

A special discussion meeting was held on Tuesday (June 9) at the International Mother Language Institute auditorium in the capital to celebrate ‘World Accreditation Day-2026’ under the initiative of Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB).

This year’s theme was ‘Innovation, Trust and Sustainability: The Power of Accreditation’.

Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Industries, Commerce and Textiles and Jute Mr. Khandakar Abdul Muktadir was present as the chief guest at the event. The event was presided over by Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) Chairman and Secretary to the Ministry of Industries Mr. Md Obaidur Rahman.

At the beginning of the event, Bangladesh Accreditation Board Director General Mohd. Aminul Islam delivered a welcome speech. The main article on the theme of the day was presented by Professor Dr. Md. Touhid Ur Rahman, Department of Civil Engineering, Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST).

The discussion meeting was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Industries, heads of various government and private organizations, experts in the quality and accreditation sector, representatives of trade organizations, and stakeholders from the industry and business sectors.

In his speech, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and BAB Chairman Md Obaidur Rahman said that Bangladesh wants to expand trade and commerce in line with the world and strengthen its position in the international market. In this regard, accreditation plays a very important role. He said that it is not possible to build trust in the market if the quality of any product or service is not ensured. And one of the most effective means of establishing that trust is accreditation.

He also said that the Bangladesh Accreditation Board is working to strengthen the country's quality infrastructure by following international standards. As a result of achieving various international recognitions and memberships, the capacity and acceptance of the country's accredited laboratories, inspection and certification institutions have increased worldwide. Through this, the entry of domestic products and services into the international market is becoming easier and new prospects for export trade are being created.

In his welcome speech, Bangladesh Accreditation Board Director General Mohd. Aminul Islam said that this year's theme 'Innovation, Trust and Sustainability: The Power of Accreditation' is very significant in the reality of the current global economy. In the era of the fourth industrial revolution, ensuring trust in products and services is very important to face challenges such as technological transformation, complex global supply systems and climate change. Accreditation acts as a powerful catalyst for building that trust.

He said that BAB, established under the 'Bangladesh Accreditation Act, 2006', is playing an important role in developing and strengthening the national standards infrastructure. By providing accreditation services according to international standards, the quality of the country's products and services is being improved, which is increasing the international acceptance and export capacity of the 'Made in Bangladesh' brand.

He further said that BAB has already opened new horizons of international recognition by achieving membership in Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC), Global Accreditation Cooperation (Global ACI). As a result, the certificates of institutions accredited by BAB are getting more acceptance in the international market, which is playing an important role in expanding foreign trade and facilitating business.

The speakers said that the importance of accreditation is gradually increasing in food safety, healthcare, ensuring the quality of industrial products and services, environmental protection, development of the agriculture and fisheries sector, information technology and cyber security, consumer protection and sustainable industrialization. The speakers emphasized the importance of accreditation as a national priority to build a safe, inclusive, sustainable and internationally-standardized economy.

The participants of the event expressed their determination to make the country's accreditation system more modern, dynamic and international-standard and wished success to all the programs of World Accreditation Day-2026.
