Position: IT Officer & Social Media Coordinator

About the Position
BIPSS is seeking a proactive and creative IT Officer & Social Media Coordinator to manage the organization's IT systems, digital platforms, and online communications. The Officer will provide technical support, maintain IT infrastructure, create visual communication materials, manage social media platforms, and support the effective dissemination of BIPSS activities, events, and publications. The position requires a combination of technical expertise, digital content creation skills, and strong organizational abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and digital systems.
• Provide technical support to staff and troubleshoot IT-related issues in a timely manner.
• Manage and maintain the organization's website, email systems, cloud services, and other digital platforms.
• Ensure data security, system backups, software updates, and the smooth operation of IT resources.
• Design and produce high-quality visual materials, including invitation cards, event banners, social media graphics, presentations, infographics, and promotional content.
• Manage the organization's social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), YouTube, and other relevant channels.
• Develop, schedule, publish, and monitor social media content to enhance the organization's visibility, engagement, and outreach.
• Create and adapt digital content for events, research publications, policy dialogues, seminars, workshops, and institutional communications.
• Support the planning and ex*****on of virtual and in-person events by managing technical and audiovisual requirements.
• Produce and edit multimedia content, including photographs, videos, and short promotional materials, when required.
• Coordinate with research, program, and administrative teams to ensure timely dissemination of organizational activities, publications, and announcements.
• Liaise with external vendors, service providers, and consultants on IT- and communications-related matters.
• Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and recommend upgrades or improvements as needed.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies, digital communication trends, and best practices to support organizational effectiveness.
• Perform any other IT, digital communications, and administrative tasks assigned by the management
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and system administration.
- Experience managing websites and digital communication platforms will be an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
