🟩 Recognize Carbonate Colours:
• CuCO₃ – Green
• MnCO₃ – Pale Pink
• FeCO₃ – Greenish White (⚠️ turns brown on standing due to oxidation!)

🧪 KMnO₄ is Decolorized By:
🔸 Nitrate ion
🔸 Sulfite ion
🔸 Fe²⁺ (from FeSO₄)
🔸 H₂O₂
🔸 KI

💨 Gas Tests – What's Fizzing?
• Metal + acid → Hydrogen
• Carbonate + acid → CO₂
• Acid alone (on carbonate) → CO₂
• H₂O₂ → Oxygen
• Heating ammonium salt + alkali → Ammonia

🧫 Anion Test Priority (Always follow this order):
1️⃣ Carbonate – with any acid (watch for effervescence!)
2️⃣ Sulfate – with Ba²⁺ (white ppt)
3️⃣ Halide – with AgNO₃ (ppt color: white/cream/yellow)
4️⃣ Nitrate – the 3-step method!

⚗️ Nitrate Ion Test (Stepwise):
✅ (a) Add NaOH → observe ppt = Cation test
✅ (a)+(b) Heat → ammonia gas? = Ammonium ion
✅ (a)+(b)+(c) Add Al foil → ammonia gas? = Nitrate ion

💡 Damp red litmus turns blue = Ammonia confirmed!
