Bangladesh University of Professionals successfully organised one of the largest university-level career-oriented events, the โBUP Career and Education Fest 2026.โ Held on 17, 18, and 21 May 2026, the three-day festival aimed to establish effective connections between students and the corporate world through company booths, seminars, networking sessions, and recruitment activities. The festival brought together leading organisations of the country, industry experts, alumni, and emerging young professionals on a single platform, playing a significant role in promoting career development and professional engagement. Throughout the event, interactive sessions and career-focused programmes were arranged to provide students with insights into future career opportunities and discussions on enhancing their professional skills.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Professionals, Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest emphasised the importance of strengthening direct collaboration between academia and industry while preparing students to face the professional challenges of a rapidly changing world. Senior officials, faculty members, invited guests, and students attended the event.

The Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies (FSSS) of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) successfully organised the โ1st CFS International Conferenceโ on 19 and 20 May 2026 at the universityโs Shadhinota Auditorium. The conference, titled โNational Security of South Asia in the Context of the Emerging World Order,โ brought together renowned academicians, researchers, policymakers, and security experts from home and abroad.
The conference featured constructive discussions and research-based exchanges on regional and global security challenges. The keynote speakers included Dr Pramod Jaiswal from Nepal, Subhashini Abeyasinghe from Sri Lanka, Dr Salma Malik from Pakistan, and Dr Greg Simons from Sweden. Distinguished professors and researchers from various universities and research institutions in Bangladesh also participated in the conference.
The Honourable Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikrom, MP, attended the event as the Chief Guest. In his speech, the Chief Guest emphasised the importance of regional cooperation, strategic dialogue, and research-based knowledge sharing to ensure peace, stability, and security in South Asia amid the changing global landscape.
The conference was also attended by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, PhD, deans of different faculties, senior officials, faculty members, researchers, students, and invited guests. The two-day conference created a vibrant platform for academic and policy-oriented discussions through several technical sessions, panel discussions, and research paper presentations.

Freshersโ Reception 2025โ2026 Held
The Freshersโ Reception 2025โ2026 program titled โFreshersโ Reception 2025โ2026โ organized by Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) for the newly admitted students of the 2025โ26 academic session, was held on April 29 (FASS) and 30 (FST), and May 10 (FBS & FSSS) at the BUP Shadhinota Auditorium.
BUP Vice Chancellor Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, PhD attended the programme as the Chief Guest. At the outset of the event, the freshers were given an overview of the academic and administrative affairs of BUP. The Chief Guest, in his speech, extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly admitted students for securing admission to BUP. He highlighted discipline, honesty, integrity, empathy, self-control, and self-confidence as essential qualities of a student. The Vice-Chancellor stated that BUP is committed not only to academic excellence but also to nurturing students as responsible citizens with strong moral and human values. He further noted that, in a rapidly changing global context, BUP has been giving importance to outcome-based and application-oriented education in order to develop skilled human resources. He expressed his optimism that the newly admitted students will enhance the reputation of the university in the future and will play a significant role in the development of the country and the nation.

Celebration of 'Bangla Noboborsho 1433'
Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) celebrated 'Bangla Noboborsho 1433' with vibrant festivities on 14 April 2026 arranged by BUP Cultural Forum. To make the day memorable, a series of traditional programmes were organised at the Monpura Field and Concourse of BUP from the early morning of Pahela Baishakh. The celebration featured an array of delicious traditional Bengali food, various competitions, games, and a festive Baishakhi Fair that reflected the rich heritage of Bengali culture.
The Vice Chancellor of BUP, Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, PhD graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and officially inaugurated the Baishakhi Fair. In the programme, BUP high officials, teachers, staffs, family members and students were also present.

Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) observed 21 February as Martyrsโ Day and International Mother Language Day with dignity and pride by offering tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their mother tongue in 1952. To mark the day, the national flag was brought to half- mast at the beginning of the day. A delegation led by BUP Treasurer Air Commodore Md Reza Emdad Khan, GUP, BUP, ndc, psc, GD(P) brought out a procession and placed floral wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar.
In addition, a special prayer was held after Zuhr which was attended by senior officials, teachers, and staff of BUP.

Orientation Program for MPH Exchange Course on Climate Change and Health
On 11 January 2026, the Faculty of Medical Studies organized an orientation program for an international exchange course under the Master of Public Health (MPH) program titled โClimate Change and Health.โ This exchange initiative brought together students from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and Maastricht University (UM) as part of our ongoing commitment to global health education.
The program welcomed five international students from Maastricht University (UM)โJasmin Azarderakhsh, Jan Giesecke, and Marcel Koelmann from Germany, and Jip Broens and Emma Maria de kort from the Netherlandsโwho joined four Bangladeshi MPH students to participate in this academic exchange. The course has been meticulously designed by distinguished faculty members of the MPH program, with a focus on climate resilience and health systems in the context of global environmental change.
Through interactive learning and collaborative group work, students will engage in shared learning experiences, exchange diverse perspectives, and develop a deeper understanding of the health impacts of climate change across different regional and cultural settings. Participants will work in mixed international teams, fostering academic dialogue, cultural exchange, and mutual learning.
Hosting this exchange program reflects BUPโs continued commitment to excellence in public health education, cross-border academic cooperation, and the development of future global health leaders. The Faculty of Medical Studies is pleased to welcome students from the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, Maastricht University.

Expert-Led Sessions on Internal Resilience
The Counselling & Placement Centre (CPC) of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) organized two expert-led sessions titled โCalm Minds, Productive Minds: Mastering Internal Resilienceโ on 28 and 29 December 2025.
The sessions were designed to enhance emotional well-being and professional effectiveness by equipping participants with practical internal coping strategies for managing stress and strengthening resilience in both personal and professional life. A large number of faculty members, officers, and administrative staff from different departments and offices of BUP actively participated in the programme.
The sessions were graced by Brigadier General Md Rabbi Ahsan, ndc, psc, Registrar, BUP, as the Chief Guest. The expert panel included Brigadier General Md Shazzad Hossain, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, Chief Finance Officer, BUP; Major Shajeda Akter Moni, BSP, psc, Deputy Director, CPC, BUP; and Md. Rakibul Hasan, MPhil, Assistant Academic Counsellor, CPC, BUP.
Through interactive discussions and guided reflections, the sessions encouraged meaningful engagement and highlighted the importance of inner resilience for maintaining productivity, balance, and professional excellence within the university community.
