We are pleased to inform you of a milestone of our effort to increase outreach, and spread awareness, about the significance of fact-checking, and media and information literacy in this age of misinformation. Our colleague, Shuvashish Dip, on behalf of FactWatch and CQS, has recently conducted two educational sessions in Bogura and Shariatpur to promote fact-checking and impart media and information literacy.
The sessions, titled "Sensitizing Young Diversified People On Misinformation And Fact-Checking," were aimed at promoting an online course developed by a partnership between the Center for Critical and Qualitative Studies (ULAB), Article 19 and DW Akademie. The sessions were carried out at two Madrasas located in the two aforementioned districts: the first one being TMSS Dakhil Madrasa, Bogura, and the second one being Shariatpur Islamia Kamil Madrasah.
These outreach sessions are part of our commitment to educating individuals, from diverse communities, about the importance of fact-checking, critical thinking, responsible social media use; and, consequently equipping them with the necessary skills to navigate through the barrage of misinformation. We aim to continue, and expand the reach, of our mission of promoting media and information literacy to mitigate the ongoing ill-effects of misinformation
