The rapid integration of the economics of the world and the globalization of business under the WTO charter pose major challenges to those who would be leaders in tomorrow's business world. The evolving global environment demands highly skilled managers with knowledge of international business practices, cultures, finance, marketing, and economics and information technology. There is also a need to develop manpower to evaluate risk and adapt business practices to conform to different cultural and political environments across nations. In this background, the University of Dhaka in a meeting of the academic council held in October 2006 approved setting up of a department named "International Business". The Department has started functioning from the academic session 2007-2008.

A few more hours!!! All the hard-works, sacrifices, and dedications need to be burst into tears of joy… We all are awaiting that beautiful winning moment of Team IB. The “Inter-Department Basketball Final 2022” of the University of Dhaka will be held tomorrow, 8th January 2023, at the university gymnasium.

You should roar for your favorite team, support them and cheer for the winning moment, won’t you? Then why you are waiting for!!! See you all at 2:30 PM tomorrow, and hope to return to the FBS with the Champion Trophy in our hand.

আপনারা সকলেই অবগত আছেন যে আগামী ২৭ জানুয়ারি IB Voyage-2023 অনুষ্ঠিত হতে যাচ্ছে। অনুষ্ঠানটি সফল করতে যাবতীয় প্রস্তুতির কাজ ইতিমধ্যে শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছে। এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় আগামীকাল হতে রেজিষ্ট্রেশনের কাজ শুরু হবে।

BBA ১২-১৫ তম ব্যাচের শিক্ষার্থীরা ক্লাসরুমে নিজের ব্যাচের CR এর নিকট টাকা জমা দিয়ে রেজিস্ট্রেশন করতে পারবেন। BBA ১০-১১ তম ব্যাচ, MBA, EMBA, MITB ও Alumni শিক্ষার্থীরা বিকাশ অথবা নগদে পেমেন্টের মাধ্যমে রেজিস্ট্রেশন করতে পারবেন। এছাড়াও এমবিএ বিল্ডিংয়ের ৯০১৪ নম্বর রুমে রেজিষ্ট্রেশন বুথ থাকবে। সেখানে টাকা জমা দিয়েও রেজিষ্ট্রেশন করতে পারবেন। বিকাশ অথবা নগদে পেমেন্টের সময় ট্রানজেকশন আইডিটি অবশ্যই সংগ্রহ করে রাখবেন এবং আমাদের দেওয়া গুগল ফরমটি পূরণ করবেন।
★যারা বিকাশ অথবা নগদে পেমেন্ট করবেন শুধু তারাই গুগল ফরম পূরণ করবেন।

Congratulations again, Team IB!!!

One more match to get the Champion trophy in the hand of IB boys. Today Team IB defeated the Department of Disaster Science and Climate Resilience in the semifinal and qualified for the final. It was a very competitive match initially, but the Department of International Business finally secured a glorious victory.

What a great moment it is!!! We congratulate them and wish to have the Champion trophy in hand.

Dr. Shobod Deba Nath, Associate Professor and coordinator of the Executive MBA (EMBA) program of the Department of International Business, has received the "Best Research Poster Award (First Prize)" under the Faculty of Business Studies at the 1st Research-Publication Fair 2022 organized by the University of Dhaka as part of Centenary Celebration. Dr. Nath received this prestigious award today from the honorable Vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal for his paper titled “Inside the multi-tier supply firm: Exploring responses to institutional pressures and challenges for sustainable supply management,” published in International Journal of Operations & Production Management (Emerald, SCImago-Q1, ABDC-A, ABS-4, IF-9.43).

Dr. Nath thanked the Dean, FBS, and the evaluation committee members, who recognized this paper as the best research poster. In addition, Dr. Nath has received numerous Best Paper Awards from international platforms in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia. He completed Ph.D. in Management from Massey University, New Zealand, and MSc in Marketing Management from Durham University (UK). Besides his publications in SCImago-Q1, ABDC, and ABS's top-ranked journals, Dr. Nath is also working as associate editor of the prestigious Corporate Governance and The International Journal of Business in Society. Apart from his research career, Mr. Nath completed his three-year tenure as head of the department (chairman) this week and took charge as coordinator of the Executive MBA (EMBA) program of the Department of International Business.

We congratulate Mr. Nath for his outstanding achievement and make the Department of International Business proud among all the Departments of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka.

Congratulations Team IB!!!

It's a consecutive 3rd Victory for the IB Basketball team in the inter-department basketball championship of the University of Dhaka. Team IB stood as group champion with today's victory over the Department of Communication Disorders with a margin of 33-13. Before that, Team IB also won against EEE and ISRT by significant margins.

Team IB will perform now in Super Sixteen. We congratulate them and wish to continue this rocking performance till the final.

On this day in 2007, the Department of International Business, University of Dhaka, started its journey to develop skilled human resources with strong analytical and decision-making abilities and an understanding of diverse and contemporary global issues. After crawling and some baby steps, the Department has entered its teenage with full of potentials and promises. On this auspicious moment, Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin, a successful ex-treasurer of the University of Dhaka, has taken charge as the 6th Chairman of the Department.

The new chairman, under his leadership, with other faculty members of the Department, has also taken a series of initiatives to celebrate 15 years of glory of the Department. The celebration will start with a vibrant and colorful Winter Fest -2022, and the closing will be next summer with an international seminar on international trade, business and investment. Students from all batches and programs will be facilitated throughout the different events to showcase their competencies and get the scope to connect with industry and alumni. The Department firmly believes that such initiatives will further enhance students’ knowledge and skills and make them competent for national and international competition.
