Some basic things for part one

1. Listen to the examiner's question carefully, so that you can give a relevant answer. If you don’t understand the question clearly, you can’t make good answer even if you are a good user of English.

2. Ask for clarification or request to repeat the answer if you don’t understand.

3. Make your answer with a complete sentence. Don't give answers like - yes / no / almost / sometimes/ good / bad etc.

4. While answering, try not to repeat the exact word or expression from the question. Paraphrase or replace where it needed.
like - do you like music?
don't say, yes, I love music.
you may say - yes, music is one of my favorite pastime.

5. Start with a direct answer, followed by extension.

6. Use reason, character, specialties, frequencies, time, feeling, examples, experience to make your “extension”

7. Use a clause with a connector making a complex sentence, like – which, because, so , as ……
It will take your standard of language higher.

8. Use interesting and appropriate adjectives to make a better response.

9. Prepare topics with ideas and proper vocabulary to speak.

10. Be natural, a bit casual, and way more informal than an interview.

11. Be honest, so that you are relaxed and your answers come with a better fluency, proper intonation as a natural response.

12. Make sure accuracy.

13. Speak clearly in modulated voice, not too high not too low, not too slow not too fast. Your pronunciation should be correct, if not at least acceptable.

14. Don’t memorize answers.

15. Don’t make too short or too long answers.

16. Don’t make long, frequent pauses.

17. Don’t be silent for long.

18. Try to avoid words from your native language.

19. Never use any language or words or idioms with which you are not comfortable. You might make blunders which will surely lower your score.

20. Don’t use clichéd words or expression .

21. Don’t repeat much.

22. Don’t stress yourself about giving right or wrong answers, because simply there is no wrong answer. All they ask is some information about yourself and no one knows those things better than you.

23. Don’t say anything irrelevant.

24. Don’t use jargon, and don’t share your technical knowledge.

25. Smile, but moderately, not like a clown

26. Make eye contact.
