Things to know to ensure maximum marks in IELTS Writing Exam. Take a look at the important points…
🟢Before the IELTS Writing test:
🔸Underline useful vocabulary items
🔸Underline and highlight grammar structures
🔸Underline linking devices between sentences and paragraphs
🔸Apply what you have learned to your own writing.
🟢During the IELTS Writing test:
🔸When you write your answers, remember the examiners are grading you on your expression. There are no wrong or right answers.
🔸Examine the questions properly and see that you cater to all parts of the question.
🔸Remember to stick to the word limit. If you happen to write lesser than 150 words in Task 1 or lesser than 250 in Task 2, you will lose marks.
🔸Always write the answers in your own language. If you use the words from the question exactly, you will not be given marks for the same.
🔸Do not use bullets in your answers, always write them in full. Arrange your basic ideas into different paragraphs. This shows the examiner how well you can organize your points.
🔸Do not concentrate on writing long and complicated answers. Write well, coherent, and organize your thoughts well. Ensure, your grammar is immaculate.
🔸When attempting Academic Writing Task 1, you will have to select and compare relevant information from data presented in a graph, table or diagram. When writing the introduction, never copy the text from the question. Always use your own words.
🔸Task 2 of the Academic Writing test is an essay. Always plan the structure of your essay beforehand. Place a nice introduction, supporting ideas and real-life examples, followed by a conclusion.
🔸You are given 40 minutes to complete your essay for Task 2. Always take five minutes to first plan your answer before you start writing, and five minutes in the end to review for any mistakes.
🔸In your essay, keep the last paragraph for a valid conclusion of all the points you’ve made in the answer.
🔸Do not confuse between singular and plural nouns. Always double-check your answers for this common mistake.
🔸Remember, spellings are everything. Standard American, British and Australian spellings are all acceptable in IELTS.

🔸 Practice how to pronounce the numbers clearly. For instance, when spoken, numbers like ‘Forty’ and ‘Fourteen’ may sound similar.
🔸 Do not try to use complicated words in your conversation if you are not comfortable. Keep it simple and casual. However yes, if you can use advanced vocabulary, it will be of advantage.
🔸 Try to provide your answer with reasons. This helps use a wider range of grammar and vocabulary.

Things to know to ensure maximum marks in IELTS Reading Exam. Take a look at the important points…
🔵Before the IELTS Reading test:
🔸Read news papers, magazine, booklets, current affairs, journals etc
🔵During the IELTS Reading test:
🔸Practice reading different kinds of texts in English to develop the habit of reading quickly.
🔸Before you answer any question, read each question properly to make it easier to find answers later. If you can, mark possible answers while you read. If you are taking IELTS on the computer, make notes or even highlight any section of the text.
🔸Start with a cursory reading of the text to have a generic idea what it is about. Once you are a little familiar, read it carefully keeping in mind the questions to which you need to find the answers.
🔸Since you do not have to apply your own knowledge to answer the questions, all answers will be there in the passage itself. Read carefully to not miss them.
🔸While answering, ensure that you are using the correct spellings as given in the passage.
🔸Sometimes there can be questions to test upon your understanding of the given passage. For instance, the question could be about the topic, highlighting particular words or ideas denoting the core message of the passages.
🔸It is a good practice to mark important words as you read along. For instance, if there are important dates, mark them! It becomes easier to spot them if a question is asked around the same.
🔸Ensure your spellings are always correct, especially when you are copying from the passage.
🔸If you are attempting IELTS on paper, write your answers down on the answer sheet. You will not get any extra time later on to transfer any of your answers.

IELTS Speaking📣
🔹When helping students prepare for the IELTS test, one of the biggest fears is how to do well in IELTS Speaking.
🔸IELTS Speaking is a face-to-face, informal discussion with an IELTS examiner, and is the same for both Academic and General Training.
🔖Top 5 IELTS Speaking Tips
▪️1. Speak some English words every day.
It is better to practice a little bit every day and improve your skills gradually.
▪️2. Ask the examiner questions if you don’t understand.
Your IELTS Speaking test is meant to be like a normal conversation between 2 people. Therefore, if you don’t understand a word you can ask the examiner to explain what it means.
▪️3. Do a 24-hour English warm-up.
It takes most IELTS students 10-15 minutes to ‘warm-up’ and performs to the best of their ability on test day. Just like an athlete needs to warm up before a sporting event, you also need to warm up before your IELTS exam.
▪️4. Give full answers.
‘Yes,’ and ‘No’ are NOT satisfactory answers in your IELTS Speaking test – you need to show the examiner how good your English is.
▪️5. Correct your mistakes.
People make small mistakes when they speak all the time, especially when they are nervous in an exam. By correcting your mistakes as you make them, you can show the examiner that you really do know your grammar and vocabulary.

IELTS WRITING: Improve your score by writing🔖
▪️Reading and writing cannot be separated from each other: the more in-depth reading you do, the more in-depth writing you will eventually do. As the IELTS Writing paper has been referred to as the most difficult paper, all of these skills can help to improve the way you write. But to get the maximum benefit for your IELTS Writing test, and boost your band score.
🔸Task🔹
In IELTS Academic Writing Task 1, you will describe a chart or a process.
▪️1. Print out the article and read it.
▪️2. Take a pen and underline every mention of quantities or proportions, or how they change.
▪️3. Now copy down each sentence that includes one of these examples, and write a parallel sentence on a different topic underneath it. In this exercise, we are focusing on language, rather than the interpretation of the graph. So it doesn’t matter whether your sentences are true or not; what’s important is that you practice using the words.

The reading module in IELTS is something that bothers almost every IELTS Candidate. When you start reading a long chapter of at least 1500-2000 words, it removes all the smiles off your face. So most of the IELTS candidates believe that the reading element of the IELTS exam is the most difficult. Yes, it's a bitter thing to accept, but it's the truth.
Before your IELTS Reading test, you must be fully prepared because the reading test requires 40 questions in 60 minutes. The following types of questions you may get in your IELTS reading test
1.True/false/not given questions
2. Multiple-choice questions
3. Matching tasks
4. Gap filling tasks
5. Sentence completion tasks
6. Classification tasks
7. Short-answer questions
8. Chart, table, or diagram completion tasks
A few points which can be kept in mind while taking the reading test, to achieve a band score of 8 is as follows:
Self-Preparation:
First of all, It is important that you enjoy your reading experience. Reading for pleasure not only makes you want to read more, it also improves your reading skills.
Re-telling the story
It's a good idea to summarise what you've just read. You can do this by writing down the main ideas of a chapter in a story, or an article you have found interesting. Summarising what you've read in your own words aids in the development of your vocabulary, which is necessary for the IELTS test.
GOOD LEVEL OF READING SKILLS:
You must have outstanding reading skills in order to acquire a good band score, and you must read a lot of books, periodicals, journals, and newspapers to do so.
THE ANSWER WILL BE CONTAINED WITHIN THE QUESTION:
This means that if you fully understand the question, it will be much easier for you to answer. It is preferable to read through the text and questions before writing the answer; you should set down 5 minutes to prepare for the answer at the start.
DO NOT SPEND MORE THAN A MINUTE ON A SINGLE QUESTION:
If you are not able to understand which answer to be written to a particular question. Do not waste much time in finding the answer to that question alone, skip to the next question. You can come back at the end when extra time is given to review the answers and try to figure out what is the answer. It is important to manage your time well.
STUDY THE VOCABULARY SPECIFIC TO PARTICULAR TOPICS:
In the reading, section vocabulary plays an important role and the vocabularies will be different for different topics. So you need to be careful while studying the vocabulary. Try to learn academic words or words from a thesis, academic documents, and articles. Most of the time, the language used for the academic passage is formal. If you don't understand the sentences, you miss the answers within.
