The Bangladesh Geological Society, in collaboration with Dhaka University Geology Alumni Association, Geology & Mining Alumni Association of Rajshahi University, and Jahangirnagar University Geological Sciences Alumni Association, hosted a memorable Iftar Mahfil.
This special evening brought together professionals, alumni and students from the geological sciences community to share the spirit of Ramadan, strengthen bonds, and celebrate unity.
Here is the poster video presentation on Groundwater Hydrochemistry and Salinity Zonation of Saint Martin's Island, Bangladesh, delivered by G M Mohiuddin Jahoyer. This research highlights the hydrochemical characteristics, salinity distribution patterns, and groundwater quality challenges of Bangladesh’s only coral island. Co-authored by Yousra Tasnim and Md. Anwar Hossain Bhuiyan. The study explores critical issues related to coastal aquifers, seawater intrusion, and climate vulnerability.
This presentation provides scientific insights into groundwater chemistry, salinity zonation processes, and sustainable water resource management strategies in fragile coastal environments.
