Learning English..
"Care to" is a polite, slightly formal or casual way to *offer* or *invite* someone to do something. It’s often used in friendly conversations or soft invitations.

Meaning:

"Care to" means
"Would you like to…",
"Do you want to…", or
"Are you interested in…"

✅ *When it’s appropriate to use:*

1. *Inviting someone casually but politely:*
- *Care to join us for coffee?*
- *(= Would you like to have coffee with us?)*

2. *Offering someone something:*
- *Would you care to try this cake?*
- *(= Do you want to try this cake?)*

3. *Asking someone gently to explain or speak:*
- *Do you care to explain what you meant?*
- *(= Would you like to explain?)*

4. *Suggesting an activity:*
- *Care to dance?*
- *(= Would you like to dance?)*

❌ *Avoid using “care to” when:*
- You want to be very direct or informal (e.g., with close friends, you might just say “Wanna join?”)
- The situation is very serious or professional (in that case, more formal phrases like "Would you be willing to..." are better)

- Polite, gentle*, friendly
- Good for invitations, suggestions, and light conversation

Account for - এর ভিন্ন ভিন্ন অর্থ ও examples

১. দায়িত্ব দেওয়া / ব্যাখ্যা দেওয়া
Explain or justify something
ব্যাখ্যা দেওয়া বা জবাবদিহি করা
Example:
- He had to account for his absence.
→ তাকে তার অনুপস্থিতির কারণ ব্যাখ্যা করতে হয়েছিল।

২. গঠন করা / অংশ হিসেবে থাকা
To form or make up a part of something
কোনো কিছুর নির্দিষ্ট অংশ গঠন করা
Example:
- Rice accounts for 60% of our daily food intake.
→ আমাদের দৈনিক খাদ্য গ্রহণের ৬০% গঠন করে চাল।

৩. দায়ী হওয়া / কারণ হওয়া
To be the cause of something
কোনো কিছুর কারণ হওয়া
Example:
- Poor roads account for* many accidents.
→ খারাপ রাস্তা অনেক দুর্ঘটনার জন্য দায়ী।

৪. খোঁজ পাওয়া / কাউকে খুঁজে পাওয়া
To know where someone/something is
কাউকে বা কিছু খুঁজে পাওয়া বা তার হদিস জানা
Example:
- All the passengers have been accounted for after the crash.
→ দুর্ঘটনার পর সব যাত্রীর খোঁজ পাওয়া গেছে।

Have a long face : মুখ কালো করা, বিষণ্ন বা দুঃখিত মুখভঙ্গি করা।

Example :

She had a long face after hearing the bad news.
খারাপ খবরটা শুনে তার মুখটা যেন শুকিয়ে গেল। / তার মুখটা বিষণ্ন হয়ে গেল।

Have a long face - মানে হলো কেউ খুব মন খারাপ করে বা কষ্ট পেয়ে আছে, সেটা তার মুখ দেখে বোঝা যাচ্ছে।

Why the long face?
মুখটা এত কালো কেন? / এত মন খারাপ কেন?

Slake -

# তৃষ্ণা মেটানো
উদাহরণ: He drank water to slake his thirst.
বাংলা: সে তার তৃষ্ণা মেটাতে পানি খেল।

# প্রশমিত করা / উপশম করা

উদাহরণ: Nothing could slake his curiosity.

কিছুই তার কৌতূহল প্রশমিত করতে পারল না

# (কখনও) দহনশক্তি কমানো — যেমন: slake lime (চুনের উত্তাপ কমানো)।

Slake মানে হলো মেটানো বা প্রশমিত করা
Satisfy or quench

সে আমাকে ডাকেনি, কিন্তু আমি সঙ্গী হয়ে যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিলাম / আমি পিছন পিছন যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছি।
