Proud Moment for the Department of Biomedical Engineering, BUHS
We are delighted to share that students from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Bangladesh University of Health Sciences—MD. Mukaddimul Haque Muneem , S M Hasinur Rahman and Shaharin Suporna have achieved outstanding success at the prestigious PTIB Civic Tech Challenge 2025 with their innovative project Poster Shorai, a civic-tech platform designed to reduce illegal posters and visual pollution by enabling citizens to capture photos of unauthorized posters and report them digitally, allowing faster action and better urban management; from 249 participating teams, only 100 were shortlisted, 13 advanced to bootcamp, and finally 9 teams reached the final showcasing at the expo, where their team emerged as the Champion, securing a grant of BDT 1,00,000 (One Lakh Taka); the final showcase took place on 12 April 2026 at the PTIB Civic Tech Innovation Expo held at the ICT Division Tower, supported by the ICT Division, Bangladesh Computer Council, United Nations Development Programme, Diversity for Peace, Active Rights, Peace Maker Studio, Digital Khichuri Challenge, along with support from Norway; this remarkable achievement highlights the innovation, dedication, and real-world impact created by our students and reflects the department’s commitment to fostering meaningful technological solutions for society.
