We are delighted to invite you to a webinar to learn more about the British Council’s Women in STEM scholarships programme. This opportunity is for interested scholarship aspirants from South Asia. The webinar on Women in STEM Scholarships will be held on 16 March 2021, 3 PM to 4 PM. It is FREE webinar and registration is now open. This is a closed event and the joining link will be shared with you a day prior to the event.

The British Council has established programmes to support Women and Girls in STEM around the world, designed with a lifecycle approach in mind, from inspiring young girls to stay in STEM to supporting women working in STEM fields reach positions of leadership and network with their peers in their region and the UK. Expanding on our current work, we have launched the British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM in partnership with 19 UK universities, for women from South and South East Asia, and the Americas.

The objective of the programme is to provide opportunities for 90 women from across South and South East Asia and the Americas to complete a Master’s degree in a STEM field in the United Kingdom. We have 40 scholarships for South Asia and I am delighted to inform you that Bangladesh has been chosen to receive the highest number of scholarships. It is an incredible opportunity for applicants with attractive benefits: economic support will include tuition fees, stipend, travel costs, visa and health coverage fees, with special support for mothers.

In the short term, this opportunity will provide the women with a foundation to launch their careers in higher education and research in their home country. In the long term, as alumni, we expect the group of scholars to take a key role in the advocacy of girls and women in STEM in their home country, leading to lasting impact.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for handling all secretarial and coordinating activities of Managing Director.

• Draft/prepare memorandums and business correspondences for Managing Director.

• Enduring the accuracy of all documents provided.

• Plan, manage and execute public relations and media communication.

• Responsible to inform and remind the Managing Director and management staffs of necessary information, as and when required.

• Maintain registers & files and keep records relating to meeting & prepare meeting minutes.

• Ensure all daily operational functions of Managing Director's are completed smoothly and efficiently.

• Day to day handling of appointment query over telephone and personal meeting.

• Email correspondence with various Branches, Local Government office and private companies.

• Maintain database on different information, reports, addresses, contracts Nos. etc.

• Handling the travel plan and travel details.

• Organizing and maintaining diaries and making appointments.

• Others related activities.

Educational Requirements:

• Master of Business Administration (MBA)/Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline.

Experience Requirements:

• At least 2 year(s)

• Office Time: Saturday - Thursday( 10.00 am to 7.00 pm)

• The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Personal Secretary.

• Applicants must be excellent in English both writing and speaking.

• Ability to self motivate and self manage your student portfolio through positive relationship management.
• Ability to handle targets and work with the conversion team to reach & exceed goals
• Understand Conversion techniques to meet targets.
• Understanding of fast and timely responses to increase conversion.
• Understanding Entry requirements of studying in the USA, UK, CANADA, EUROPE and MALAYSIA. (Training provided)
• Understanding the different admissions policies of our partners & universities (Training provided)
• Ability to work within a team
• Understanding of different cultures, and working with students / colleagues / partners of different backgrounds
