If you fill Gabriel’s Horn with paint, does the paint eventually touch the end of an infinite wall?
It is a question that has haunted mathematical intuition since 1641. This 17th-century anomaly remains one of the most elegant and provocative proofs that our physical intuition often fails exactly where calculus succeeds. It presents us with a physical impossibility: a vessel with a definitive, measurable limit, yet bounded by a surface that possesses no end.
To the casual observer, it is a "painter's nightmare." To the mathematician, it is a masterclass in the divergent nature of the infinite. It forces us to confront a reality where a three-dimensional solid can be contained, while its two-dimensional skin stretches toward the edges of the universe.

Examinations have a way of feeling larger than they are, but every prepared mind walking into that hall is more ready than they think. On behalf of the Greenherald Maths Club, we wish all CAIE candidates of 2026 the very best as they sit their exams. May your preparation carry you through, and may you walk out with a smile on your face.
Good luck to each and every one of you!

You’re given two envelopes, one containing twice as much money as the other. You pick one, but before opening it, you’re given a choice to switch. It seems like the smarter move, because the other envelope could always contain more.
But here’s the twist. The same reasoning applies no matter which envelope you choose, even after switching. You could keep changing your decision, convinced each time that it’s better, yet never actually improving your outcome.
The paradox reveals how easily logic can break down when information is incomplete. Sometimes, the problem isn’t the choice itself, but the way we think about it.

Walk into a room of just 23 people. It feels almost impossible that two of them share the same birthday, right? Surprisingly, the odds say otherwise. The Birthday Paradox shows that in a group this small, there’s already over a 50% chance that at least two people share a birthday—and with more people, the probability rises far faster than intuition expects.
So what’s going on? We tend to think in a straight line, where more people means only a slightly higher chance. But here, probability grows through pairs, not individuals. Each new person can match with everyone already there, creating a rapidly expanding web of possibilities.
This is where intuition falls short, and mathematics takes over. A quiet reminder that sometimes, what feels rare isn’t so rare after all.

On this Easter, we are reminded that even the heaviest storms do not last forever. After the silence comes a sunrise, after pain comes healing, and after every ending, a gentle new beginning unfolds. It is a time when hearts feel lighter, hope feels stronger, and life begins again with quiet beauty.
Easter is a celebration of renewal, faith, and the courage to keep going. It reminds us that even in our most uncertain moments, there is always light ahead guiding us forward with strength, love, and belief. Just like in mathematics, every challenge carries within it the possibility of a solution, waiting to be discovered with patience and persistence.
On behalf of the Greenherald Maths Club, we wish you a peaceful and joyful Easter. May this special day fill your life with hope, your heart with warmth, and your journey with new beginnings to cherish.

Imagine someone says to you, “I am lying right now.” If they are telling the truth, then they are lying (which is a contradiction). But if they are lying, then they are actually telling the truth about lying (which is also a contradiction).
It’s a beautiful, frustrating mess. We like to think the world is built on clear “Yes” or “No” answers, but this one little sentence sits right in the middle and says “Neither.”

And with that, the curtains fall on Greenherald Prime Quest Season 2! What culminated in two days of unforgettable strategy, high-level logic, and incredible sportsmanship has officially come to a close. An event of this scale is a massive team effort, and we appreciate the support of our school administration and teachers for providing the platform that allowed us to bring this fest to life. Your guidance was essential in helping us navigate the road to the finish line.
The real heart of PQ 2, however, was the team working tirelessly behind the scenes. A massive thank you to our Club Moderator, Evans Sir and our Executive Team for their relentless dedication—they were the silent architects of this success, ensuring every detail was executed with precision. We’re signing off with full hearts and a sharpened perspective. The stage may be empty, but the standard has been set. Stay sharp, stay curious, and remember—at Prime Quest 2, the grid was just the beginning.

As the lunch and prayer break drew to a close, a different kind of energy began to settle over the campus. If the morning was defined by the silent scratch of pens and deep academic focus, the afternoon was an absolute explosion of momentum. The atmosphere shifted instantly from quiet calculation to a high-velocity sprint as the final rounds of the Treasure Hunt and the Rubik’s Cube Rumble took over the floor.
Suddenly, it wasn't just about who had the right formula, but who had the fastest instincts. We watched as participants turned the school into a living map during the hunt, while the cube finals saw fingers moving at a blur—a true spectacle of mental and physical agility.
Behind the scenes, the pulse was just as fast. The organizing committee was in a race against the clock, synchronizing the final logistical gears to ensure the grand finale would be nothing short of spectacular. The tally sheets are being finalized, the trophies are polished, and the tension is peaking. We’ve pushed the boundaries of logic all day, and now, the stage is set for the final crowning moment.
