Alhamdulillah, we successfully completed the inaugural session of our six-month course on “Survey of World Civilization” organized by the Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT).

The program commenced with an opening speech by Professor Dr. M. Abdul Aziz, Director General of BIIT, who highlighted the significance of studying world civilizations from a global and Islamic perspective.

The inaugural lecture, “What is History? Deep Time, Myths, and Worldviews,” was delivered by Professor Dr. Abdullah Al Ahsan, former Professor of Comparative Civilization at Istanbul Sehir University. The session offered valuable insights into the nature of history, the role of myths and worldviews, and the foundations of civilization studies.

We sincerely thank all participants for their active engagement and look forward to continuing this enriching intellectual journey in the coming week.
