It is a historic moment for BUET—IRAB is inaugurated.

Today Institute of Robotics and Automation, BUET (IRAB) was inaugurated by Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, the Hon’ble State Minister, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Prof. Dr. Satya Prasad Majumder, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of BUET. They unveiled the foundation stone of IRAB. Mr. Mohammad Samsul Arefin, Hon’ble Secretary of the Department of ICT and Prof. Dr. Abdul Jabbar Khan, Hon’ble Pro-Vice-Chancellor of BUET were present as the Special Guests.

Our own creation- Robo-Sheba v 1.0 was launched today. She successfully collected and presented flowers to the Guests at the beginning of the event. Thanks to Spectrum Engineering for their collaboration with IRAB in this regard.

We used to organize robotics competition at BUET almost every year and Hon’ble State Minister joined enthusiastically in every event. Later he encouraged us to establish a center of excellence on Robotics at BUET and ICT Division offered financial support. We are grateful to you for your kind support and encouragement.

My sincere gratitude to Satya Sir for his direct supervision and constant support in establishing the IRAB.

Special thanks to Engr. Shohel Rana for his hard work in building the Robo-Sheba v1.0. Many thanks to Engr. Saif for his Nao Robot Show. Thanks Joshim for your hard work.

We are grateful to the department of EEE for giving IRAB the opportunity to prepare lab experiments for the new course Robotics and Automation. Thanks to Prof. Celia Shahnaz and Jawad for conducting the lab and many interesting projects.
