Hi there!
I'm Arman from Narsingdi, delighted to share my experience with British Council.
I took my IELTS exam yesterday. By the grace of Almighty Allah and my countless efforts, I secured overall 6.5 and I am super satisfied with this result.
This band is the outcome of 5 months self preparation.
Let's talk about all modules in details.
Listening:
Luckily I got one word answer in both part 1 and 4. It doesn’t mean you will also get one word but Cambridge mostly offer one word answer. Better to practice two or three words questions to reduce risk.
Part 2: 11-16 double MCQ and 17-20 was a Map.
Part 3: 21-26 MCQ and 27-30 matching information.
Listening speed was normal as Cambridge.
Note: After exam, I asked one of the examinee about listening and he answered he got common part 1 and 2 from nextband ielts website. So you can practice from this site as it is free of cost. However, remember one thing, it is totally uncertainty. And you should complete all Cambridge tests first then you may go for other sites.
Reading: What should I say I don’t know! God blessed me as He wanted.
In passage 1, there were 5 True, False, Not Given and 8 one word answer.
P2: 4 list of heading, 4 name matching and 5 two words gaph fill.
P3: 6 MCQ, 4 Yes, No, Not Given and 4 gaph fill with clues.
After all, I should have scored at least 7 in reading but I couldn’t. However, I'm satisfied.
Writing part: Part one was a table about proportion of released cinema and sales of tickets.
Part 2: Some people believe that advertisements should be totally banned because they do not have useful purpose to the community. Do you agree or disagree?
I hoped I will get 6.5 in this module but failed. To be honest I wrote part 2 really well but could not maintain data on part 1 because of mismanagement of time. So, try to be careful about your time, for sure.
Finally Speaking test: Examiner was a British, approximately 70+ years old. He was quite flexible btw.
In part one, he asked me several personal questions, such as hometown, what I would like to channge in our home town, fruits and food, my interest about social media and future plan about using these tools and so on. Almost 8-10 questions he asked.
In part 2: Before saying this, I would like to show my heartfelt gratitude towards Edukraft, because I got it common from their prediction (free)
Describe an interview with a famous person you watched, heard or read. এইডায় ডিরেক্ট কুপ মারছি 😑
Educraft shared predictions on their page and this was till 16th September but as I registered for 17th, I thought 16th and 17th are ভাই ভাই 😀 So I followed and practiced their prediction. By the way, I also asked two of my mates about their cue cards and one of them got the topic of Interesting video, another got a house you would like to visit but don’t like to live there, wich were predicted by educraft.
I highly recommend to follow their predictions on Facebook or WhatsApp group they provide.
Part three was highly tough for me. I got almost 10-12 relevant and irrelevant questions in this part which was definitely unexpected for me and I lost my fluency in this part. He eneded this section by wishing, 'have a good day.'
However, I thought he might band me no more than 6 but yeah, I got 6.5 may be for being fluent in part one and two.
By the way, I never practiced speaking with anyone but Chatgpt and Gemini. It would have really good for me if I practiced speaking with someone.
However, thanks Jannat Apu who helped me before registration by giving some important information. Thanks apu.
Now, I'm asking prayer to all of you so that may Allah grant me to persue my dream land.
All the best comrades. Keep pushing yourself.
