Narrated by Ibn Abbas: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "There are no days greater, nor any days in which good deeds are more beloved to Allah, than these ten days of Dhul-Hijjah." (Sunan Ibn Majah)
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The son of Adam does not do any action on the day of sacrifice which is more pleasing to Allah than the shedding of blood. On the Day of Resurrection, it will appear with its horns, and hair, and hooves, and indeed the blood will be accepted by Allah before it even falls to the ground, so let your heart delight in it." (Sunan Ibn Majah).
"And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, 'O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think.' He said, 'O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast.'" (Quran 37:102)
"Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good." (Quran 22:37)
"Say, 'Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.'" (Quran 6:162)
These Hadith and Quranic verses emphasize the significance of the sacrifice, the importance of good deeds during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and the need for piety and devotion to Allah in our actions. They also remind us of the story of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail (Ishmael), as an act of obedience to Allah's command.
