Today, the Department of Civil Engineering organized two insightful and highly informative sessions focused on achieving BAETE accreditation and strengthening the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Assistant Professor Md. Zakir Hossain conducted a valuable session on OBE-based assessment practices, emphasizing effective question-setting methods aligned with the OBE curriculum and accreditation requirements. Senior Lecturer Md. Asif Ahmed delivered a session on the fundamentals of Outcome-Based Education, highlighting the importance of Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), their proper formulation, and their role in ensuring quality engineering education. The occasion was graced by the Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Md. Ghulam Murtaza sir, who inspired the faculty members to continue organizing subject-focused seminars and professional development activities to foster academic excellence and continuous improvement. The Chairman of the Department of Civil Engineering Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad also played a pivotal role in making these complex accreditation-related topics easier to understand and implement. The faculty members gained practical insights that will help them efficiently carry out accreditation-related responsibilities and further strengthen the department’s journey toward quality assurance and academic excellence.

The Department of Civil Engineering warmly welcomes the students of the 41st Batch (Evening) through an orientation session. During the session, Assistant Professor Navila Afsari provided a comprehensive session on online class procedures, examination regulations and other important academic guidelines. Senior Lecturer, Md. Asif Ahmed further elaborated on academic policies and overview of curriculum structure, offering valuable guidance to help students begin their academic journey successfully. The orientation session was conducted in the presence of the Chairman of the Department of Civil Engineering, Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, who extended his warm wishes to the students.

Md. Asif Ahmed, Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator, Department of Civil Engineering, will also present a session titled "Achieving Quality Engineering Education through BAETE Washington Accord Affiliation and OBE-Based CLO & PLO Mapping". The seminar will focus on strengthening faculty understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), effective CLO-PLO mapping, and the significance of BAETE accreditation under the Washington Accord framework for the faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering on 6 June 2026 (Saturday) at 4:00 PM in Room #330.

Department of Civil Engineering is again organizing an exclusive in-house seminar session on BAETE accreditation for its faculty members. This session will be conducted by Md. Zakir Hossain, Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator, Department of Civil Engineering, EUB. The seminar, titled “How to Create a BAETE Course File and Prepare OBE-Based Exam Questions,” will be held on 6 June 2026 (Saturday) at 3:00 PM in Room #330.
