The Department of English, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT) is immensely proud to announce that our student Ashfaqur Salehin has secured the Runner-Up position in the Art Competition at the "12th DEH Inter-University Student Conference and Cultural Competition 2026" organized by the Department of English and Humanities, ULAB, under the theme "Money Talks: Consumerism and Capitalism in Literature and Language." He captivated the judges with his remarkable creativity and artistic vision by his artwork "Warlikemen" .

At the Department of English, SMUCT, we always encourage our students to push boundaries, embrace their unique creative passions, and explore new horizons beyond the classroom. Ashfaqur’s brilliant achievement is a testament to that spirit!

Proud Moment for the Department of English!

We are incredibly proud to share that four of our brilliant students—Sayeda Nusrat Jahan Oyshi, Sabrina Yeasmin, Emtiaz Hasan Prince, and Md. Irnin Billah Anan—recently participated in the enriching 14-day Summer Camp held at Honghe University, China. Throughout this wonderful journey, they deeply immersed themselves in Chinese culture through a variety of hands-on educational and cultural activities. From learning the delicate arts of tea making, Chinese calligraphy, traditional fan making, and pottery, to discovering the depths of traditional Chinese medicine and crafting authentic Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles, our students truly embraced this global learning experience. They even spent a memorable weekend living with local Chinese teachers and their families, gaining invaluable insights into their daily life and traditions. This incredible opportunity allowed them to connect with local communities and create unforgettable memories, representing Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology beautifully on an international stage. Welcome back, team—your Department is immensely proud of you!
