Not every position gets filled on the day of the EC announcement, some are earned over time through dedication, consistency, and genuine effort behind the scenes.
Even after the Executive Committee announcement, two individuals continued working for the club with sincerity and commitment, constantly showing how much they care about this community. Their hard work and involvement made it clear that they truly deserved a place in the team.

Selections are never soft, some leave with the widest smiles while some with a drive to improve. Today, BISCDC held the Selection rounds for BISC InterHouse Debate Tournament 2026. Hundreds of participants came with high hopes and large spirits while only 32 were able to hold out throughout the process. While a saddening experience for a few, it was an encouraging experience for all. With the loudest laughter, prettiest smiles and funnest of experience, BISCDC concluded today with not only 32 participants but hundreds of aspirants.

BISCDC is proud to congratulate Farhana Rahman and Mirsabh Munaf on their outstanding performance at the 14th DRMC Nationals 2026.

‎In this British Parliamentary style debate tournament, team BISCDC faced-off against several other reputable institutions throughout Bangladesh including both high school and university level debaters. They admirably managed to defend their position up to the Grand Finals of the competition. Their journey reflects great discipline, resilience, and a deep passion for the art of debating.

‎A special recognition to Mirsabh Munaf for an exceptional individual accomplishment, being ranked 3rd Best Open Speaker of the tournament.

Low time, high pressure and double the competition, British Parliamentary Format of Debate is an excellent way to practice quick and critical thinking, perfect articulation of words and on spot Rebuttals. BISCDC hosted Intra BISC BP today to challenge our Up and Coming debaters with thorough competition and thought inducing motions. 8 teams participated and only 1 took the Champion Title home. This tournament helped our new debaters understand and participate in new formats of Debate. The tournament was more successful than we could've hoped for as it ended with cheers, laughter and the hugest rounds of applause.

Dedication, the only attribute that even comes close to defining our young rising star Mirsabh Munaf. Defying odds, through sheer determination, integrity and unprecedented amount of hard work Mirsabh Munaf has achieved one of the highest ranks in Bangladesh Debating Circuit. After an extremely competitive and fruitful National Camp, Munaf has officially made it to the Development Team of Team Bangladesh for WSDC 2026. Currently ranked as one of the best debaters in the country, our shining star has brought glory for our institution and BISCDC. His strive for excellence is unwavering and with this true brilliance he continues to sustain the legacy of BISC and Bangladesh Debating Circuit.

We are elated to reveal the Bangladesh Development Team for WSDC 2026!

BDC has always prioritized our long-term objective of creating a pipeline of young debaters to pass the torch to. This ensures and retains Bangladesh’s place at the top of debate while also allowing the continuity of strong WSDC performances. The following individuals have been chosen to be a part of this year’s Development Team.

The debaters in this year’s Development Team are:

Muntasir Tajwar Rashid from Birshrestha Noor Mohammad Public College,
Mirsabh Munaf from Bangladesh International School & College, Mohakhali,
Shehreen Hussain from Sir John Wilson School.

This year’s Development Team will be coached by Shadman Khan Chowdhury from North South University and Tauhid Islam Jami from Lafayette College.

We are excited to be working with a promising group of debaters as part of our WSDC training programme this year and wish them all the very best as they begin their journey with the Bangladesh contingent.

Presenting the BISCDC Executive Panel 2025-2026:

Extremely proud to announce BISC Debating Club’s very own debater, 8th grader, mischief-maker and an overall handful- Mirsabh Munaf has been selected for the first phase of National Camp 2025!

Not only is this an excellent opportunity for any young debater to learn from the crème de la crème, but it is also an acknowledgment of Munaf's unparalleled efforts towards becoming a better debater.

We of course will be cheering for Munaf while he continues to take the debate world by storm. We hope that you all will do the same.

With immense pride and pleasure, BISC Debating Club is overjoyed to announce that team BISC 1 became Open Quarterfinalists among nearly sixty teams competing in Bangladesh’s most anticipated annual debate tournament, 22nd BDC Pre-Worlds 2025.

Winning 4 of the 6 preliminary rounds, they were the 16th team to break in the Open category. Even so, they persevered further and beating the top-ranking team of the tournament, secured their position as part of the top eight. After a truly valiant effort at the Quarterfinals, team BISC 1’s journey at the 22nd BDC Pre-Worlds came to an end after a great run.

We are extremely grateful to our mentors and the debating community at large who cheered for our team throughout their journey. We hope that the future teams from BISC will further surpass BISC 1 and the BISC Debating Club remains determined to provide them with the proper facilities needed to hone their skills.
