Kazi Fariel Nusibha, from the Department of Architecture at BRAC University, has been recognized as the winner of the Twenty-Sixth Cycle of the DOT Student Design Award 2025 in Category C (2nd & 3rd Year Projects).
Her winning project, “Sobuj Chaya: Design of a Tall Building”, completed during Design Studio VI (ARC302) in the Summer 2024 session, reflects design sensibility, environmental awareness, and a thoughtful approach to architecture.
The project integrates sculptural form with environmental intelligence—channeling natural wind flow, maximizing daylight, and minimizing energy consumption through the use of vertical greenery and photovoltaic glass.
Alongside its vertical rise, it introduces a public green space offering breathing room in the dense urban fabric. This space supports local biodiversity and community well-being, addressing the urgent need for ecological balance in the rapidly urbanizing east of Dhaka.
The design studio was mentored by Rashed Chowdhury and Tanveer Ahamed Bin Ali Naser, faculty members of the department.
