On November 5, 2025, we had the privilege of delivering an insightful seminar at BRAC University titled “Financing Your U.S. Graduate Education”, delivered by Ms. Margaret McElligott from the University of Wyoming.

Her comprehensive guidance on scholarships, assistantships, and building a strategic application roadmap provided invaluable direction for students aspiring to pursue higher studies in the United States. Ms. McElligott’s experiences in diplomacy and international education enriched the session, inspiring us to approach our academic journeys abroad with greater confidence and preparation.

Sincere thanks to the Microbiology Program for organizing such an enlightening and motivating event.

We are pleased to announce a special seminar titled “Financing Your U.S. Graduate Education,” organized by the Microbiology Program at BRAC University.

The seminar will be conducted by Margaret McElligott, Assistant Director of International Students and Scholars at the University of Wyoming. McElligott brings extensive experience from her career in international education and diplomacy, including 15 years in the U.S. Foreign Service and prior work in journalism.

Margaret will share insights on funding opportunities for graduate studies in the U.S., including assistantships and scholarships. She will be available to engage with students, especially those in mathematics and the natural sciences credit transfer programs.

This is a valuable opportunity for students and staff to learn more about international academic pathways and graduate opportunities at the University of Wyoming. We encourage all interested students and staff to attend this session.

Buddha purnima is the most significant festival for Buddhists.Buddhist people celebrate Buddha purnima to honor the three most important events in the life of Lord Buddha - his birth, attaining enlightenment, and reaching nirvana (his death). The day is based on the full moon day of May. Even though all the full moon days are termed holy in Buddhism, the Purnima of Vesakh holds unique importance as it is the birthday of Gautama Buddha. Several places across world where there is immense Buddhists population, celebrate Buddha Purnima with great enthusiasm.
