Every child is an artist, the problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.
– Pablo Picasso

Stop child labour. Let's make promises on this World Children Day.

The sun of independence that was set at the Palashi’s mango orchard in 1957, has again risen upon this 16th December on 1971. Not through negotiations, not through somebody’s kind favor, a victory through the struggle sacrificing sea of blood, which defeated the Pakistan forces and were bound to surrender with heads all down. The world beholds the birth of a new independent state. And the glorious leader who guided and lead the nation to this victory is perpetually unfading and luminous, the greatest Bangali in thousand years, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Delight comes in many ways in life. But being able to observe the victory through the sacrifice of million's bloodshed earning the freedom of motherland from the oppression of alien forces has no comparison at all!

Eid Al-Adha Mubarak! 🌙

In this holy day of sacrifice and care, let's show more care to humanity and our environment. It is time to behave responsibly that will depict the fact that we care for people around us and the nature. Please don't dump the waste of sacrificial animal into streets, bazaars and empty plots where they would often pile up and rot for weeks before being disposed. The stench of rotting flesh and swarms of insects becomes the first of uninvited guests following the festival. And don't forget to maintain safety and distance.

According to numerous sources, currently there are around 150 million tonnes of plastics floating in the ocean worldwide. With the corona virus pandemic situation, a new wave of pollution is littering our streets and shores. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) has surged around the world, with one study estimating a monthly usage of 129 billion face masks and 65 billion gloves globally. Let us all be mindful of our ocean and earth. Let's do our part to keep the environment healthy and free of PPE waste. Dispose your PPE, masks and gloves properly, let's not make the world unliveable anymore. 🍀🌐

Every minute 20 people leave everything behind to escape war, persecution or terror. Recent data claims at least 79.5 million people around the world have been forced to flee their homes. Among them are nearly 26 million refugees, almost half of them are minor and aged below 18. Demonstrate how crucial the crisis is.

This year with the theme of World Refugee Day "every action counts", we look for a world where everyone can make a difference. It is our responsibility to make sure that no one is left behind.

Today is World Blood Donor Day! First organised by WHO & ICRC in 2005, now countries around the world celebrate this day. Giving blood is an excellent way to help out the community, and it saves lives! Donating blood is a quick and selfless act of kindness. When you donate, your blood can be used to save up to three lives. The importance of donating blood remains as vital as ever — especially with the COVID situation putting a strain on donations.

পাশে আছি initiative is doing some excellent work in this pandemic. We are very proud to have them as our associate partner of TBMUN20. Whole world is going through a critical difficult situation right now but in a developing country like Bangladesh, it gets even harder for the financially less fortunate to survive with little or no work available for them.

So we encourage everyone to help them with their admirable and consistent effort by making a donation directly to them. We do believe our tiniest effort to help them will save families from starving in this lock-down. Let us help them fulfill their hunger while their smile fills the void of our heart!

Check out পাশে আছি Initiative's page for details.
