‘Measuring Performance of Islamic Banks in Bangladesh’ , The book is written based on PhD thesis. It measures and compares performance of Islamic banks operating in Bangladesh. As the objectives of Islamic banks focus on attaining both economic and welfare performance, the present book evaluates the performance of Islamic banks from two perspectives: economic efficiency and the welfare dimension as guided by the objectives of the Islamic Shariah or law popularly known as Maqasid al-Shariah. It employs Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) to assess economic (cost) efficiency and Performance Measures based on Maqasid al-Shariah (PMMS) to calculate welfare level. The book provides valuable insights for policymakers, bank managers, investors, and customers regarding the performance of Islamic banking in Bangladesh and its key determinants. Furthermore, it can work as a light house for future researchers, especially fresh PhD candidates who are interested in exploring various aspects of Islamic banking and finance, particularly performance analysis.
