Ms. Khadija Rubaiyat Tasmia (She/her) is currently working at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) as the Assistant Director of the writing center, English Zone. She earned her BA in English and MA in English and Cultural Studies from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). She co-authored a book chapter titled “Beyond Borders and Barriers: Healing Narratives of 1947 through a COIL Project” selected to be published this year by Stylus Publishing, LLC.

In 2015, Ms Rubaiyat received a CCI scholarship and went to Santa Rosa Junior College, California, to complete her Associate Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood Education with an internship. Upon her return, she conducted two community projects in 2017 focused on cyberbullying, mental health, emotional intelligence, and early childhood education. Later in December 2017, the Royal Commonwealth Association awarded her an Associate Fellowship certificate for the mentioned projects. She has a keen interest and facilitated workshops on Critical Thinking Skills, Workplace Communication, Time Management, and Leadership Styles and Skills.

Besides her responsibilities at the English Zone, Ms Rubaiyat has been working as an instructor for the Essential Skills Programme since Fall 2020 at ULAB. She ardently advocates for the awareness of Mental Health and Quality Education for all and intends to continue contributing actively in her community.

Mr. Shafayat Hossain Chowdhury is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business. He started his career in 2009 with Eastern Bank Limited (EBL), one of the prominent banks in the country, as a Management Trainee after completing his BBA from North South University. He served the bank in various capacities ranging from Associate Financial Analyst to Senior Associate Manager and made significant contributions towards the development of consumer credit.

In 2013, he went to the United Kingdom (UK) to pursue higher studies securing the prestigious “Aston Business School Postgraduate Scholarship.” He attained his MSc International Business degree with Merit from Aston University in Birmingham and achieved lifetime membership of “Beta Gamma Sigma,” an international honor society recognizing outstanding scholars from the world’s best business and management programs.

He joined University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) in 2015 and has been teaching courses at undergraduate level. Apart from teaching, he has organized several workshops and seminars for students with insights to particular sectors. He has also conducted several training sessions at a local bank.

Asif U Ahmed is an Assistant Professor and the Director of the MBA Program at the School of Business of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. He is also the Acting Director of the EMK Center- a priority American Space co-managed by ULAB and the American Center of US Embassy Dhaka. With over two decades of experience in international development, Asif specializes in private sector engagement, non-profit organization management, corporate social responsibility and entrepreneurship development. He headed the corporate engagement and private sector development programs for different international organizations both locally and internationally. He currently works as the strategic advisor to different local and international NGOs in their effort to create sustainable financing models for development programs. He has been working with youth both at home and in abroad helping them to develop their communication and leadership capacity, building their tolerance and their conflict resolution ability and their ability to work as a team in difficult circumstances. He is currently involved in youth capacity development both in the host community as well as in the Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar. He has recently received special recognition from the international NGO World Vision for his work around toxic masculinities and addressing it at different levels. He also has keen interest on employability skills and recently conducted the study on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh on the skills gap of mild-level managers.
Asif has advanced degrees in Strategic Nonprofit Organization Management from Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University and in Corporate Social Responsibility from the Harvard Business School.
