Great initiative. 👏🏽 More companies should follow this 🙌🏽

To empower our female employees to take the time they need when they need it most, we’ve launched Paid Menstrual Leave for our female employees, giving them one day each month to rest and recover 🌸

Our new Menstrual Leave Policy ensures 1 day of paid leave every month for female employees. Additionally, our existing Miscarriage Leave includes 30 Days for female and 5 days for male employees to give them time to heal and rise stronger. 💪

Period and Gut Conundrums 07/09/2021

If you've ever wondered if there's a link between your hormones and gut health, here's an insightful article explaining "the hormone horror and gut-hormone connection." Give it a read to go easy on yourself when you PMS, and hopefully the gents will learn a thing or two about being more considerate.

Period and Gut Conundrums I have recently realized that the only time I am genuinely triggered to write anything on this blog is during a long weekend- works well though, perhaps this will be a routine from now (fingers cro…

Celebrating S*xual Health in September 04/09/2021

In honor of celebrating World S*xual Health Day, American S*xual Health Association (ASHA) is launching a month-long celebration. Visit the link below to participate in the discussion as well as find resources to educate yourself on the matters of best practices for s*xual health and its importance.

“S*xual health is a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being related to s*xuality; it is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or infirmity.

S*xual health requires a positive and respectful approach to s*xuality and s*xual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe s*xual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. For s*xual health to be attained and maintained, the s*xual rights of all persons must be respected, protected and fulfilled.” -World Health Organization (WHO)

Today is World S*xual Health Day!

Since 2010, World Association for S*xual Health (WAS), a global advocacy organization had made an effort to celebrate this day annually, to raise awareness and promote the best practices in s*xual health. The purpose of celebrating this day is to break the barriers of the social and cultural stigma associated with s*xuality and to promote positive s*xual health around the world. The theme of the event this year is “Turn it on: S*xual health in a digital world.” The goal of this year's theme is to emphasize the need to raise public awareness of s*xual health rights, while also acknowledging the harms and violations of s*xual rights in the digital sphere. So let us start a dialogue on how to reframe our mindset to be s*x-positive and promote safe and consensual s*xual practices. Let us also keep our s*xual health and wellness in check.

A great video on how parents can start talking about s*x education with their child.
Proper s*x education can help a child identify between a good touch and molestation; so please don't shy away from this topic, talk about it, break the barrier, break the taboo.

Sharing this because sadly it is relevant again. When will the victim-blaming stop?

When we hear about someone going through abuse or a traumatic experience, instead of dissecting their character let us offer support. Victim blaming makes the survivors feel unsafe, hampers their healing process, and also makes other survivors feel attacked. It is not easy for survivors to overcome the trauma of their abuse. Especially in our country where the law is outdated and along with society it has little to no support to offer to victims. It is important to focus on the perpetrator and the crime. It is crucial to teach our children and youth about consent. It is necessary to inform them engaging in any s*xual activity should be enjoyable, safe, and agreed upon by all people involved.
