Should Startups Pay Dividends?
In short: No.
Why? Because investors invest in startups for the companies to increase in overall value. They want to sell the company's shares for a much higher price than they bought them at. If dividends are paid out to shareholders, that takes away from money that could be used to increase the value of the company.
While it's certainly possible that a startup can have positive cashflows, that money should go back into the company to create additional value.
For instance, let's say the company has $100.
If it gives the $100 back as dividends, the shareholders gain $100 in value.
However, if the startup uses that $100 to acquire more customers to grow the business or hire talent that can improve the product, it may be able to increase the shareholder value by $500—even though it's not guaranteed.
Startup investors prefer taking the risk to make the $500 than the guaranteed $100 because startups are meant to offer a higher return for the risk that's being taken.
If a company reaches a point where it does not believe it can create value with the cash it has in hand, then it's likely that it has likely matured and is no longer a startup.
Similarly, if an investor is asking for dividends, they are likely not a good fit to invest in a startup.

বর্তমানে বিশ্বকাপ ফুটবল খেলা হচ্ছে। আপনারা অনেকেই আন্তর্জাতিক বিভিন্ন ফুটবল খেলা দেখেছেন। নিশ্চয় এটাও দেখেছেন, মাঠের চারিদিকে ডিজিটাল বিলবোর্ড থাকে, যেখানে সব সময়ই কোন না কোন বিজ্ঞাপন চলতে থাকে। কাতার এয়ারওয়েজ এর বিজ্ঞাপন চলতে চলতে, চলে আসলো কোকের বিজ্ঞাপন, এরপর আসলো নাইকির বিজ্ঞাপন।

আপনি ভাবছেন, ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফুটবল দেখলে, এমন ডিজিটাল বোর্ড কে আর না দেখে থাকবে? এটা কি কোন আলোচনার বিষয়?

ভার্চুয়াল রিপ্লেসমেন্ট প্রিমিটার টেকনোলজির মাধ্যমে একই খেলায় ভিন্ন ভিন্ন বিজ্ঞাপন দেখতে পারবেন। যেমন ধরুন, ব্রাজিল-আর্জেন্টিনার খেলা চলছে, সেখানে মাঠে বসে ওই বিলবোর্ডে প্রচারিত এক ধরণের বিজ্ঞাপন দেখবেন। ওই একই খেলা, ফ্রান্স থেকে দেখলে, ওই বিলবোর্ডে হয়ত ফ্রান্সের বিজ্ঞাপন দেখবেন, আমেরিকাতে বসে দেখলে আমেরিকার কোন পণ্যর বিজ্ঞাপন দেখবেন। ধরুন ইটালিতে খেলা হচ্ছে, এখন ইটালির লোকাল প্রডাক্টের বিজ্ঞাপন দেখেতো ফ্রান্সের কোন লাভ নেই।

ক্যামেরার সাথে, বিলবোর্ডের একটি সংযোগ থাকে, আর তারা এভাবে সর্বোচ্চ ৪টি ফিড এভাবে চালাতে পারে।

এই প্রযুক্তির ফলে লোকাল প্রভাইডারদের সাথে চুক্তি করে, তাদের এরিয়ার বিজ্ঞাপন দেখিয়ে, আয়ের উপায় বেড়ে গেছে।
