Do's and Don'ts for the IELTS Speaking Test
1. Develop customized answer. Avoid saying Yes or No to the question.
A smart IELTS candidate must deliver his/her personalized answer. Just saying ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the question will lead to poor marking by the examiner. Adding extra information, reasons and examples to support the statement will result in scoring higher.
2. Asking for clarification if need be is perfectly ok.
During speaking session, if you don’t understand a question, don’t be afraid to ask the examiner to clarify/rephrase/repeat the
question.
