You’ll find that listening is the easiest English skill for you. You can understand about half of what people say to you. This means you can guess the things you don’t understand. Listening to the English of American is not so difficult. You have problems when you try and understand the news on television. You also find movies hard to follow. You need the subtitles at the bottom of the screen. I t

hink listening with lyrics and sceneries on that topic in English made your listening better. It’s a lot more interesting than your other listening clips. I have one piece of advice for students who want to improve their listening. That is to listen to the same thing again and again. You understand more every time you listen. How to improve speaking skill? You are a bit shy when you have to speak in English. You are a little worried about making mistakes. You also still lack confidence. You see many of your friends don’t worry about mistakes. They just talk and talk. They always get their message across, even if their grammar is wrong. Of course, this is the best thing to do. Research always says it’s best to learn by doing. If you don’t try to speak English, you’ll never be able to use it when you need it. One thing you can do from today talk to yourself. You have short conversations with yourself. it must work. If you can, you also make short stories about people and say them aloud. You do this in your room or your private place, of course. People will think you are a crazy or mad if you do it in class or public place. Tips to Help Students Build Better Reading Skills:
1. Set aside time to read each day, 2. Read the Right Books, 3. Ask Yourself Questions While Reading and After Reading, 4. Improve Fluency First, 5. Once You've Learned to Speed Up, Slow Down!, 6. Ask Lots of Questions, 7. Read It Again, 8. Read Many Kinds of Texts, 9. Take notes while you read, 10. Read something you’re interested in, if you have a choice, 11. Choose the right reading environment, 12. Read with a friend, 13. Identify key words and concepts, 14. Review what you’re reading by summarizing it, 15. Write down new words you want to learn, 16. Try to guess the meaning of any new words, 17. Read out loud, 18. Look for just the gist of a text's meaning, 19. Decide on the purpose of your reading, 20. Make sure you understand the type of text you have. How to improve writing skill? Writing in English is not really something you can achieve immediately, but with hard, efficient work and gradual improvement you should definitely get there. Start writing very simple sentences and then get the challenge to write more elaborate pieces. Topic sentence: An useful way to improve your English writing skills is to start your paragraphs with a topic sentence. Grammar: Your English writing will improve a lot if you work on grammar exercises. Also, remember that grammar is more important when you write than when you speak because it is usually more formal and more structured. Spelling: Check your spelling mistakes. Read as much as you can: Just as we say that listening is closely related to speaking, reading is closely related to writing so our number 1 tip for improving your English writing would be to read as much as you can! This will help you improve your vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and show you there are many different ways to communicate ideas. For example: If you need to write a description of a house or a bio of yourself, a great idea is to read some other bios or house descriptions, from books, magazines, brochures, the internet or whatever source you can think of. After having read others, then you can attempt to write your own. You’ll realize it’s much easier than trying to write without any previous input! Use an English dictionary: You’ll be able to look up words to clarify their meaning and to learn antonyms and synonyms so as not to repeat words or phrases, which will better your writing skills.

The situation in Los Angeles sounds incredibly heartbreaking. It’s tough enough dealing with the destruction of homes and communities, but the reports of price gouging in such a time of crisis only add insult to injury. People are already facing so much hardship, and for some landlords to take advantage of that vulnerability by raising rents drastically feels especially unfair.

Governor Newsom's move to introduce price-gouging laws makes sense, but it’s unfortunate that such protections only come after so much damage has already been done. It’s also very telling that so many people—including celebrities like Paris Hilton and Tina Knowles—have lost homes in these fires. That really puts into perspective the widespread impact of these disasters.

And yes, climate change is definitely a key factor here. The increased frequency and intensity of wildfires, combined with the ongoing drought in California, seem to be creating the perfect storm for these kinds of tragedies. It's a wake-up call about the kind of climate future we're heading into.
