A Focus Group Discussions (FGD) on identifying Occupations and Required Skills of Emerging/High-end Products for the RMG and Textile Industry, was held from 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM, 13 December 2023 at the Conference Room of RTISC, 39 Rabindra sarani (6th Floor), R # 15, Sector # 3, Uttara, Dhaka-1230.

Md. Jahangir Alam, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Japanese Studies, University of Dhaka conducted the Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The main point of the discussion was (1) Which products are known as high-end/ emerging products and (2) What types of occupations and skills will be needed for those products?

Mr. Md. Zaglul Haider, CEO, RTISC as well as RTISC Executives attended the FGD. Experts from various universities, reputed garments and factories attended the workshop and imparted their knowledge to make the event worthwhile.

Dr. Md. Sanwar Jahan Bhuiyan, Joint Secretary, DEPD (Private-1) SEIP was present as the Chief Guest. While Mr. Anarul Kabir, DS, AEPD(Private-2), SEIP, Mr. Mohiuzzaman, Course Specialist, SEIP and Mr. Md. Nurul Islam, TVET Specialist were present as special Guests.

RMG & Textile Industry Council (RTISC) organized a validation workshop today (Wednesday) 28 December, 2022 at 02.00 PM on the draft final report of “Skills Development Strategy for the RMG & Textile Industry” under Tranche-2 of SEIP project at the RTISC Conference Room, 39, Rabindra Sarani (6th Floor), R # 15, Sector # 3, Uttara, Dhaka-1230.
The Skills Strategy was presented by Dr. AKM Nazrul Islam, Associate Professor, Dhaka School of Economics (a constituent institution of the University of Dhaka).

This study includes the present situation & future forecast of Skills for technological in the regard of the 4IR & automation technologies.
