Public Awareness Alert | Be Aware of Miraj Jamal
This message serves as a warning to communities—especially BUP alumni and Bangladeshis abroad—regarding Miraj Jamal, who has been involved in repeated acts of fraud, harassment, and defamation, particularly targeting people within his network.
Identity:
Name: Miraj Jamal
College: Dhaka Residential Model College
University: BUP, Dept. of Development Studies-03, Batch 2018
Currently in: Windsor, Ontario, Canada (since 2022)
University of Windsor (Canada)
Reported Contact Number: +1 437 425 5611
Key Concerns:
Manipulation & Harassment:
Gains trust first, then turns conversations into controversial or inappropriate topics to pressure and control targets.
Fake Profiles & Fabrication:
Creates fake female Facebook accounts to lure people into conversation, then misuses or alters them to defame others.
Group Infiltration & Data Theft:
Joins alumni or social groups (WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.) to harvest personal phone numbers and photos, later using them to create fake identities or send inappropriate messages under false names.
Reputation Attacks:
When blocked or ignored, he retaliates by spreading false rumors, edited images, and fake chats to defame people.
Targeting BUP Community:
Many individuals from BUP’s 2016, 2017, and 2018 batches have been affected by his actions.
Sponsorship Scam Attempt:
Miraj falsely promised to sponsor a marathon in a large community but was exposed as a scammer and banned from the group after members caught on.

Asylum Claim Strategy:
This is his main concern. He provokes conflict intentionally to build a case of “persecution” for asylum applications in Canada.
Claims of Legal Immunity:
Tells people he has Canadian PR and citizenship, and uses this to intimidate victims, making them feel helpless or silenced, especially those residing in Bangladesh.
Tensions With Faculty:
Previously caused major issues with the faculty and Chairman of the Development Studies Department at BUP. It has been verified from the officials of the department.
Safety Measures:
Avoid any form of communication with him.
Do not share personal numbers or pictures, especially in groups where he may be present.
If approached, block and report.
