On his anniversary, we remember with deep respect and heartfelt gratitude our beloved former Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammed Rahmatullah. His visionary leadership, academic wisdom, and lifelong dedication to the advancement of life sciences have left an enduring mark on our department and the broader scientific community.

Though he is no longer with us, his spirit continues to guide and inspire our journey in education and research. His legacy lives on through the values he nurtured, the knowledge he shared, and the generations of students and scholars he inspired.

We remain forever grateful for his profound contributions and strive to carry forward his vision with the same passion and commitment he exemplified.

🎉 Heartiest Congratulations to Our Proud Alumnus – Dr. Mohammad Asraful Alam! 🎉

The Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, UODA is delighted to share the wonderful news that our esteemed alumnus, Dr. Mohammad Asraful Alam, has been honored with the Outstanding Early-Mid Career Non-resident Bangladeshi Scientist Award at the GNOBB Award for Scientific Excellence 2025. 🏆

Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Zhengzhou University, Dr. Alam has made remarkable contributions in sustainable biofuel and biochemical production, bioremediation, and CO₂ biosequestration. His impressive academic journey includes 105+ peer-reviewed publications, 10 book chapters, and 23 patents, with his research being cited 6,848 times (h-index: 42, Google Scholar). He has also been recognized among the world’s top 2% scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier.

We are incredibly proud of his groundbreaking work, editorial contributions to major Springer publications, and the prestigious awards he has received for his research and teaching excellence.

The award will be officially presented on September 8, 2025, at the GNOBB Award Session of the 6th ICBHA-2025 conference.
