And just like that, this 18th April our Spring 2026 Orientation ended in the most wonderful way. The event was filled with laughter, warm conversations, and the kind of energy that makes you glad you showed up. It was definitely a day to remember. ✨

মুছে যাক গ্লানি, ঘুচে যাক জীর্ণতা—নতুন সূর্যের আলোয় উদ্ভাসিত হোক আমাদের আগামীর পথচলা। পহেলা বৈশাখ বাঙালির জীবনে পুরোনো দুঃখ, ব্যর্থতা ও ক্লান্তিকে বিদায় জানিয়ে নতুন আশা, স্বপ্ন ও সম্ভাবনাকে বরণ করার বার্তা নিয়ে আসে। লাল-সাদায় মোড়ানো উৎসবের এই দিনটি, মঙ্গল শোভাযাত্রার আনন্দ এবং পান্তা-ইলিশের স্বাদ আমাদের সংস্কৃতি ও ঐতিহ্যের গভীর শিকড়কে মনে করিয়ে দেয় । এই নববর্ষ আমাদের জীবনে বয়ে আনুক শান্তি, সমৃদ্ধি ও হালখাতার নতুন পাতায় শুরু হোক সম্প্রীতির এক নতুন অধ্যায়। প্রতিটি ঘরে বয়ে আসুক নতুন বছরের সতেজতা।

সব ভেদাভেদ ভুলে আমরা যেন একসাথে আনন্দ ভাগ করে নিতে পারি, সেটাই হোক এই দিনের সবচেয়ে বড় অর্জন। ব্র্যাক ইউনিভার্সিটির পিস ক্যাফের পক্ষ থেকে, সবাইকে জানাই আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা।

We are saddened by the tragic accident at Daulatdia ferry ghat‚ where the passenger bus fell into the river and many innocent lives were lost․ We stand with the grieving families and extend our deepest condolences․

We often ignore the risks‚ but a few simple safety measures can save lives:

- Consider exiting the bus if a ferry is loading/unloading․
- Know the condition of your car: if it feels unsafe‚ it probably is․
- Always avoid these overcrowded or reckless buses‚ even if longer
- Be aware of high risk conditions and prioritize safety over speed․
Better late than never․

A Thought for the Future
What if every passenger knew their driver before they got in the car?
We would also like to see a national driver rating so passengers can check a driver's safety record and driver performance․ Transparency breeds accountability and accountability saves lives․

Let's honor those whom we have lost by working to raise awareness and create a safer system․

“March 26‚ 1971‚ when the idea of a nation became a conscious act of resistance․”

This declaration of independence led to the Bangladesh Liberation War․ The root cause of the war was decades of political and cultural discrimination and denial of democracy in East Pakistan․ It was a struggle for identity by the students‚ workers and intelligentsia. It was not only because of oppression but also because of the right to identity․

And yet‚ history was made‚ independence won‚ in these nine months‚ not in a single field of victory‚ but through a common sacrifice‚ heroism‚ and the silent resolve of a nation․

Today‚ it is a reminder that we must be responsible for that legacy and promote justice and human dignity for every voice to be heard without fear․ This is the essence of our legacy at Peace Café BRAC University: for the independence of our nation is not declared simply in memory‚ but perpetuated by the values we live by․
