Planning to apply to top-ranked universities abroad this Fall '27?
You've got stellar academic records from your high school years and near-perfect test scores. BUT, when you discover that a perfect GPA is NOT ENOUGH to get into a top-ranked university, you're at a loss. You could get an acceptance letter from a university at best, but WITHOUT ANY FUNDING. So, what compels a university to recommend your profile for funding? Or maybe a FULL-RIDE? Yes, it's your ECA background.
ECAs (Extracurricular Activities) are everything you do outside your classroom—the club you founded, the community project you led, the research you dove into, the team you captained. They're proof that you don't just consume knowledge; you create change. And here's the part that matters most: strong ECAs are the single biggest factor in landing scholarship money. Universities set aside millions specifically for students who demonstrate leadership, impact, and sustained commitment. A strategically built ECA profile doesn't just get you accepted—it gets you funded.
So FALL '27 APPLICANTS, you still have 1 year of your precious time to build an ECA profile that tells the story of who you are beyond the classroom. And by joining our Fall '27 Cohort, the journey becomes a lot more stress-free, as we're here to help you architect a profile that tells a story so compelling that universities can't say no! We, StudyBooth, will provide you with the right ECA opportunities tailored for your profile, so you can strategically use this 1 year to maximize your chances of funded acceptances.

Message from the CEO:
Congrats to all the HSC candidates this year. Desired grades or not, whatever you got, give yourself a big round of applause.
Now back to reality.
If you’re someone like me, who doesn’t come from a family with loads of financial backup, GPA does matter and even in university your CGPA will definitely matter in a country like Bangladesh.
So if you failed or didn’t get the minimum requirements to sit for DU/Medical/BUET, yes it will definitely hurt.
But you know what else is there? Believing the delusional plan that you can still make it by strategizing.
Keep your emotions aside. Expand your options. Try out every thing. IBA, CKRUET, GST, BUP, MIST or maybe if you’re already someone with accomplished ECAs planning to study abroad with scholarships, try for that as well.
The biggest truth of hard-work is, it pays off. It does. Definitely does. You just don’t see the bigger picture instantly.
And the greatest things in life take enough time.

Ridan Mehran Mahbub is a Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow (KMILOT) Scholar at The University of British Columbia, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of International Economics (Vancouver School of Economics at UBC). In this episode, Ridan reflects on how economics offers him a lens to understand geopolitics, connect with mathematics in meaningful ways, and express his empathy for social issues through writing and composing.
As the founder of Project Purple® and a graduate of DPS STS SCHOOL DHAKA, Ridan has long been driven by a commitment to community and a vision for reforming Bangladesh. He consistently write about economics shaping feminization, industry in Bangaldesh at The Apparel Digest. Growing up in Dhaka shaped his belief that true leadership begins with compassion and a sense of responsibility to give back.
This conversation moves beyond academics to ask bigger questions: How can mathematicians and economists come together to imagine a more decentralized Bangladesh? What does it mean to place humanity at the center of leadership? Ridan reminds us that before titles or achievements, it is the act of caring deeply for the world and its people that defines what it means to be a good human being.
