The Resource Unit, School of General Education, is organizing a workshop on "Understanding the Differences Between Book 'Reviews' and 'Summaries'" for Bracu students from all undergraduate levels. This workshop aims to help the participants gain a better understanding of the difference between analytical and descriptive writeups to enhance academic excellence .

On the 15th and 21st of June 2023, the Resource Unit at the School of General Education organized a workshop on Paraphrasing and Plagiarism. The event was held in both the Savar and Mohakhali campus of Brac University and saw participation from students of various departments. The workshop aimed to educate students about the basic idea of paraphrasing and effective techniques that they can adhere to avoid plagiarism which shall eventually raise the caliber of their academic writing skills and enhance critical thinking abilities. Through interactive games, the students engaged in discussions surrounding plagiarism and paraphrasing while they shared their personal experiences and opinions about this matter.
The workshop was a success as it provided an opportunity for the students to have an deeper insights and hand on exercise on their strengths and weaknesses of academic writings related to plagiarism and paraphrasing. The event also provided a platform for students to interact with their peers from different departments, promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration and learning. Overall, the workshop was an enriching experience for the participants.

On the 23rd of February 2023, the Resource Unit at the School of General Education organized a workshop on writing, titled "What Language Means to You" in celebration of International Mother Language Day. The event was held in the auditorium of Brac University and saw participation from students of various departments. The workshop aimed to highlight the significance of language in one's day-to-day life and the expression of ideas through various forms of language. Through interactive games, the students engaged in discussions surrounding language and shared their personal experiences related to the same.
The workshop was a success as it provided an opportunity for the students to reflect on their relationship with language and its impact on their lives. The event also provided a platform for students to interact with their peers from different departments, promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration and learning. Overall, the workshop was an enriching experience for the participants and achieved its objective of creating awareness and appreciation for the importance of language.
