The Department of CE, Prime University is proud to share that our respected faculty members participated in the International Conference on Civil Engineering Research & Innovations (ICCEI 2025), held from December 12–14, 2025, organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, RUET, Rajshahi.

The session was chaired by Asst. Professor Dr. Iquebal Hussain, esteemed academic and currently serving as the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Prime University.

Our distinguished faculty members, Mst. Shuborna Khatun and Md. Shadman Sakib Chowdhury, successfully presented their research articles at the conference, contributing to scholarly discussions and innovative advancements in the field of civil engineering.

Their participation reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to research excellence, academic collaboration, and knowledge dissemination at national and international platforms.

The Department of CE, Prime University held an Orientation Program on May 8, 2026, to welcome newly admitted students of the 15th batch and introduce them to the university’s academic environment and values.

The program was chaired by the Head of the Department, Dr. Iquebal Hossain. Faculty members introduced themselves and greeted the students, creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Students received an overview of academic policies, campus facilities, library and laboratory services, as well as extracurricular and support opportunities. The session also emphasized academic excellence, discipline, leadership, and professional ethics.

The program marked an important first step in helping students begin their university journey with confidence and enthusiasm.

For Summer 2026 admissions, leaflets were distributed on 27 and 28 April 2026 at various coaching centers in Rajshahi, and discussions were held with the relevant persons.

Dr. Md. Iquebal Hossain, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, Prime University, and former Additional Chief Engineer of BMDA, attended the programme as a special guest at the BMDA Conference Room in Rajshahi on 26 April 2026. Delegates from Japan, IWM (Institute of Water Modelling), and BMDA officers were also present. The programme was presided over by Dr. Md. Abul Kasem, Additional Chief Engineer of BMDA.
The main theme of the programme was a discussion on reducing carbon emissions from irrigated rice fields through the application of AWD (Alternate Wetting and Drying).

On April 26, 2026, Dr. Iquebal Hossain, Head of Department of CE, Prime University, visited Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute to discuss academic synergy. During a meeting with the Chief Instructor of Civil Technology, Dr. Hossain addressed student admission concerns and highlighted the university’s advanced laboratory infrastructure. This outreach, conducted during the ongoing Summer-2026 Admission Fair, aims to create smoother pathways for polytechnic graduates to pursue professional degrees. With the fair concluding on April 30th, prospective students can still secure a 25% tuition fee waiver.
