"বিশ্বের সবচেয়ে লম্বা গাছ"

পৃথিবী জুড়ে ছড়িয়ে আছে অসংখ্য গাছ, কিন্তু তাদের মধ্যে একটি গাছ সবার চেয়ে আলাদা সেই গাছটির নাম হাইপেরিয়ান। এই গাছটি এতটায় লম্বা যে, এর সামনে কুতুব মিনার এবং স্ট্যাচু অফ লিবার্টি ও লিলিপুট। স্ট্যাচু অফ লিবার্টি থেকে ১.২৫ গুণ উঁচু। এই গাছটি বান্দরবনের বাকত্লাই ঝর্ণার উচ্চতার সমান। এই গাছের কাছে ঘোরাঘুরি করলেই পাঁচ হাজার ডলার জরিমানা ও ছয় মাস কারাভোগ করতে হবে।

হাইপেরিয়ন একটি বিশাল কোস্ট রেডউড গাছ, যা মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ক্যালিফোর্নিয়ার রেডউড ন্যাশনাল পার্কে অবস্থিত।এর উচ্চতা ৩৮০.৩ ফুট (১১৫.৯২ মিটার)। হাইপেরিয়নের বয়স ৬০০ থেকে ৮০০ বছরের মধ্যে। অর্থাৎ, এটি একটি প্রাচীন গাছ।

গাছটি এতটা লম্বা হলো কীভাবে?
গাছটি লম্বা হওয়ার পেছনে অন্যতম কারণ হলো এই পার্কের আর্দ্র এবং ঠান্ডা জলবায়ু। পার্কের জৈব পদার্থ সমৃদ্ধ মাটি রেডউড গাছের জন্য খুবই উপযুক্ত।
আবিষ্কার-

২০০৬ সালে ক্রিস অ্যাটকিন্স এবং মাইকেল টেলর নামের দুই প্রকৃতিবিদ হাইপেরিয়ন গাছটি আবিষ্কার করেন। তবে পর্যটকদের দ্বারা ক্ষতির হাত থেকে রক্ষা করার জন্য, এর সঠিক অবস্থান যেন গোপন রাখা হয়।

হাইপেরিয়ান শুধু একটি গাছই নয়, প্রকৃতির অদ্ভুত ক্ষমতার প্রতীক। এটি আমাদের মনে করিয়ে দেয় যে, পৃথিবীতে এমন কিছু রয়েছে যা আমাদের কল্পনারও বাইরে।
তাই আমাদের সবারই উচিত এই সুন্দর প্রকৃতিকে পৃথিবীর বুকে টিকিয়ে রাখা।যদি আমরা প্রকৃতির গাছ-পালা কে টিকিয়ে রাখতে অসর্মথ্য হই,তাহলে আমাদের অস্তিত্ব চিরকালের মতো বিলীন হয়ে যাবে।
