The 14th Batch of the Department of Marketing, Comilla University organized an academic seminar titled “Emerging Marketing Strategies in the Era of Contemporary Business Challenges” at the Conference Room of the Faculty of Business Studies on 20th November, 2025.
The seminar, conducted as part of the coursework for Contemporary Marketing Issues and Strategic Marketing, brought together senior university officials, distinguished alumni, faculty members, and students from the department.
The program began with a formal inaugural ceremony, including a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and the National Anthem of Bangladesh. Dignitaries on the dais included the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Haider Ali, as Chief Guest, Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Solaiman, Dean Professor Dr. Mohammad Ahsan Ullah, Event Chairman Professor Dr. Meher N***r, and Event Moderator Professor Dr. Md. Moynul Hasan.
Faculty members from the Department of Marketing, including Associate Professor, Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam, Assistant Professor , Md. Awlad Hossain Assistant Professor, Mashiat Zahin, Lecturer, Abu Obida Rahid, were also present.
Following the inaugural ceremony, the seminar featured six distinguished alumni of the Department of Marketing:
Ahsan Habib, Marketing Officer at Bangladesh Tea Board;
Md. Khalilur Rahaman, Deputy Business Head at Apex Husain Group;
Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Senior Brand Manager at Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC;
Md. Nazmul Hasan, Zonal Manager at Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd;
Md. Abdul Momen, Area Sales Manager at Marico Bangladesh Limited; and
Md. Mahedul Islam Mazumder, Cluster Head at Pidilite Industries Ltd.
Their presentations covered sectors including FMCG, telecommunications, government marketing, consumer electronics, multinational operations, and strategic brand management. Each speaker was presented with a ceremonial crest in recognition of their contribution.
The seminar concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks acknowledging the faculty members of the Department of Marketing, the distinguished alumni speakers, the organizing committee of the 14th Batch, and all participating students. The event was praised by university leadership as a model example of academic initiative, experiential learning, and student-driven excellence.
The Department of Marketing at Comilla University continues to promote research-based education, professional exposure, and academic rigor, strengthening its reputation as a leading center for marketing education in Bangladesh.

The 16th Batch of the Department of Marketing at Comilla University successfully conducted a presentation program for the E-Business course.
During this session, 20 student groups, each comprising three members, presented their e-commerce business ideas through self-developed websites, showcasing creativity, analytical thinking, and entrepreneurial potential.
