English Language and Literary Club(ELLC), Department of English, Cox’s Bazar Government College has successfully completed a relief distribution program for 150 helpless and waterlogged families affected by floods in Chakaria.
Due to recent continuous rainfall and mountain runoff, vast areas of Chakaria have been inundated, forcing hundreds of families to live in inhumane conditions. In this critical moment, driven by a sense of humanitarian responsibility, members of our club delivered essential supplies—including rice, lentils, oil, salt, dry food, safe drinking water, and necessary medicines—directly to the affected families.
We believe that the practice of literature and language is not confined to the classroom alone — standing beside people in times of disaster is the true lesson of humanity. If our small effort can bring relief to even one family in distress, or bring a smile to even one child’s face, that is our greatest achievement.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the respected faculty members of the department, the dedicated members of the club, our alumni, and all well-wishers whose financial, physical, and moral support made this initiative possible.
Let us all stand beside the flood-affected people from our respective positions. Because humanity is for humans.
