A very deadly landslide collapsed a girls’ Quran Memorization Center (Hifz Hana) in Rohingya Camp 5, Block A, at around 1:40 PM today (08 July 2026).

According to the neighbors of the madrasa, more than 30 girls were studying when the sudden landslide struck. Community members immediately began rescue efforts before professional teams arrived.

Some girls survived, while others tragically lost their lives. So far, around 11 bodies have been recovered, and several injured survivors have been admitted to the hospital. Rescue operations are still ongoing as more people are feared trapped.
