The Asian University for Women (AUW) successfully hosted the 2nd International Conference on Environment and Climate Action (ICECA 2026) on 7–8 August 2026, bringing together researchers, academics, practitioners, students, and environmental advocates for meaningful dialogue on climate action and a sustainable future.
Organized by the Environmental Science Program of the Asian University for Women, ICECA 2026 was held under the theme “Commoning Our Futures with Climate Justice.” The conference provided a platform for interdisciplinary exchange, bringing together diverse perspectives on some of the most pressing environmental and climate challenges facing communities today.
The conference featured keynote addresses, plenary sessions, oral and poster presentations, and a panel discussion on Women in Environmental Sciences. Discussions addressed a wide range of issues, including climate vulnerability, water insecurity, coastal resilience, clean energy, environmental inequality, climate policy, sustainable livelihoods, and community-based adaptation.
The conference also celebrated emerging researchers and students through the Best Oral and Poster Presentation awards, while the opening ceremony featured a Flag Walk and cultural performances, reflecting the diverse and multicultural community of AUW.
The success of ICECA 2026 was made possible through the collective efforts of the Environmental Science Program, faculty members, students, conference organizers, volunteers, speakers, presenters, partners, and sponsors. Their dedication and collaboration helped create a meaningful platform for knowledge sharing, dialogue, and collective action.
