In a nutshell - অল্প কথায়। She put the matter in a nutshell. সে অল্প কথায় ঘটনাটি বললো।

" Stood on ends " means To make someone very frightened.
অর্থাৎ : ভয় বা আতংকে শরীরের লোম দাঁড়িয়ে যাওয়া।

Stood on ends is the proper usage to express fear or horror.

(Verb+ing) noun হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে সেটা Gerund.
Teaching is an art. এখানে Teaching হলো Gerund.

(Verb+ing) Adjective হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে সেটি Participle. যেমন: Flying Bird. এখানে Flying হলো Bird এর Adjective. অতএব Flying হলো একটি Participle.

1.Unaudited =অনিরীক্ষিত।
2.Alleging=অভিযোগ।
3.Defying =অবজ্ঞা করা।
4.Supposed =অনুমিত।
5.Initially =প্রাথমিক ভাবে।

অন্যতম বিভ্রান্তিকর একটা বিষয় হলো Other, others, the other or another????

▪▪▪Other= অতিরিক্ত বা বাড়তি /বিকল্প /বিভিন্ন ধরনের তথা অন্য

▪ determiner হিসাবে:

আমরা other কে Singular uncountable noun ও plural noun এর সাথে ব্যবহার করতে পারি।

✔The embassy website has general information about visas. Other(বাড়তি) travel information can be obtained by calling the freephone number.

✔Some music calms people; other( অন্য ধরনের ) music has the opposite effect.

✔What other( অতিরিক্ত) books by Charles Dickens have you read, apart from ‘Oliver Twist’?

✔This one’s too big. Do you have it in other(বিকল্প) sizes?

📌তবে আমরা যদি other কে singular countable noun এর পূর্বে ব্যবহার করি তবে অবশ্যই other এর আগে আরেকটি determiner ব্যবহার করা লাগবে।

✔I don’t like the red one. I prefer the other colour. [ singular countable noun(color) আছে। তাই এর পূর্বে আরেকটি determiner (the) লেগেছে]
✖ I prefer other colour.[ ভুল]

✔Jeremy is at university; our other son is still at school. [ our =determiner, singular noun(son)]

✔He got 100% in the final examination. No other student has ever achieved that. [ no= determiner]

✔There’s one other thing we need to discuss before we finish.

✒সতর্কতা

Determiner হিসাবে other এর plural(others) হয় না।

✖Mandy and Charlotte stayed behind. The others girls went home.
✔Mandy and Charlotte stayed behind. The other girls went home.

▪Pronoun হিসাবে :

Pronoun হিসাবে other/others হয়। [ plural noun নির্দেশে others হয়]

✔We have to solve this problem, more than any other, today.

✔I’ll attach two photos to this email and I’ll send others tomorrow.

▪▪▪The other= অপরজন/ অন্যটি

▪ Determiner হিসাবে :

দুটো জিনিসের ২য় টি/বিপরীতটি নির্দেশ করতে Singular noun এর সাথে বসে।

✔This computer here is new. The other(অপর) computer is about five years old.

▪The gift shop is on the other(বিপরীত) side of the street.

📌 কোনো গ্রুপ বা সেটের বাকি/অবশিষ্ট জিনিস নির্দেশে Plural noun এর সঙ্গে The other বসে।
:
✔Joel and Karen are here, but where are the other(বাকি/অন্য) kids?
✔Where are the other two dinner plates? I can only find four.

▪Pronoun হিসাবে :

বাক্যে পূর্বোক্ত কোনো কিছু নির্দেশে।

✔He had his hat in one hand and a bunch of flowers in the other. [হাতের কথা আগে বলা হয়েছে একবার]

✔She has two kittens, one is black and the other is all white.

▪▪▪Another= আরও একটি/আরেকজন / ভিন্ন একটি বা অন্যজন

▪Determiner হিসাবে :

[singular noun এর সাথে]

✔Would you like another cup of coffee?

✔You’ve met Linda, but I have another sister who you haven’t met, called Margaret.

✔I don’t like this place. Is there another(অন্য) café around here we could go to?

▪Pronoun হিসাবে :

✔The applications are examined by one committee, then passed on to another.

📌Confusion :

▪Noun নির্দিষ্ট হলে other আর অনির্দিষ্ট হলে another বসে।

✔I’ve posted the first package. What shall I do with that other package? [ নির্দিষ্ট। তাই other]
✖I’ve posted the first package. What shall I do with that other package?

✖After a month in Bolivia, I was ready to move to other country.[ অনির্দিষ্ট কারণ কোন দেশে যাবো ঠিক না]
✔After a month in Bolivia, I was ready to move to another country.

▪ another এক শব্দ। আলাদা আলাদা নয়।

an other(ভুল)

▪plural noun এর সাথে another বসে না।

✖Another interesting places to visit include the old harbour and the castle. [ places= plural noun]
