Today’s Earth Day assembly at AUW Laboratory School was centered on action-driven learning through the students’ “Zero Waste Week Challenge,” aligned with the SDG-12 “Your World” Video Competition organized by the British Council.

The initiative encouraged students to observe their daily waste production and take responsibility for reducing and rethinking how materials are used.

Throughout the week, students collected waste especially paper and explored creative ways to reuse it. One of the most impactful outcomes was their effort to transform a week’s worth of collected waste paper into handmade plates, demonstrating how discarded materials can be given a second life through innovation and teamwork.

The assembly also featured a student-made video documentation, capturing the entire process from waste collection to creative recycling. It reflected their engagement, awareness, and growing commitment to sustainability.

To broaden the perspective, a NASA video was also screened, connecting local actions to global environmental realities and reminding everyone of the shared responsibility to protect our planet.

The session was a strong reminder that meaningful change begins with small, consistent habits and today, our students showed exactly that through creativity, awareness, and action.

Today’s Global Café turned into a dynamic platform of ideas as students took the lead, presenting their thoughts on critical environmental challenges in honor of Earth Day. From air pollution and water crises to deforestation and plastic waste, each group shared clear insights, thoughtful analysis, and practical solutions.

What stood out was not just their understanding of the problems, but their ability to propose real actions starting from their own school and daily lives. Their presentations reflected awareness, responsibility, and a strong sense of ownership toward the planet’s future.

Today was not just about learning it was about students stepping up as voices of change.

At AUW Laboratory School, true learning shines when students confidently take the lead 🌟📚

In a recent Bengali class, Nawal and Morium from Grade 8 stepped into the role of young educators, delivering an engaging session on tenses. Their lively presentation energized the classroom and inspired enthusiastic participation from their peers 🎤✨

Students were then divided into pairs and small groups, where they exchanged ideas, explored concepts more deeply, and supported one another in understanding tense usage 🤝🧠 This collaborative approach encouraged even the quieter students to speak up and actively engage, turning the classroom into a space of shared discovery 🌱💬

The session concluded with the teacher reinforcing key concepts, leaving students more confident, curious, and actively involved in their learning journey 🎯📖

At Asian University for Women Laboratory School learning is not only about gaining knowledge but also about growing with the right strategies.

Today’s assembly on Study Smart Small Habits Big Success was a meaningful experience for our learners. They explored effective ways of studying and understood that success does not come from studying for long hours but from using the right techniques. Inspired by the ideas of James Clear students learned how small daily habits can create big achievements over time.

It was inspiring to see learners reflect on their own study practices and think about positive changes they can start from today.

Kudos to our wonderful assembly team for creating such an engaging and impactful session that truly supports our students in becoming confident and strategic learners.
