Education in Russia

Russia has a high quality education system, probably the best mass education system in the world, guaranteeing free education to all its citizens. It has taken enormous strides to make its higher educational institutions accessible to foreign citizens. As a result, nearly 1100 international students from more than 200 countries of the world are now enrolled in Russian universities, offering a choice of more than 500 different specialties in medicine, engineering, aviation, agriculture, economics and other fields to foreign students.

Over 50 medical universities in Russia are listed in the ‘world Directory of Medical Schools’ published by the WHO. Out of the top 100 medical universities in the world, Russian, medical universities are said to occupy at least 30 places. Russia being a signaton to the Bologna convention on mutual recognition of educational documents, degrees issued by Russian universities is accepted.
