đ Join OSO in Building Flood-Resistant Shelters for Sustainable Rehabilitation đ
The recent floods in Fulgazi, Feni have devastated homes, farms, and livelihoods, leaving many families vulnerable. Over the past month, OSO teams have visited the affected areas, documenting stories through video interviews, interacting with locals, and identifying urgent needs.
Our mission is not only to provide immediate relief but also to empower people to rebuild their shelters and farms sustainably, using locally available materials. To achieve this, we believe in the power of collaboration and innovative design thinking.
Calling all stakeholders:
OSO invites NGOs, academic institutions, foreign experts, architects, engineers, and individuals passionate about community development to join us in a colloquy. Together, we aim to co-create flood-resistant shelter solutions, empowering residents to build their own homes with resilience and sustainability at the core.
How to Get Involved:
Join the Colloquy: Help shape innovative, sustainable designs for flood-resistant shelters.
Visit the Field: We can arrange visits to the affected areas at your convenience to provide firsthand insights.
Partner with Us: Letâs collaborate on funding, technical expertise, or any other capacity you can offer.
This is an opportunity to build a safer future together. Your expertise and support can make a lasting impact on families striving to regain their livelihoods.
Letâs create a community-driven, sustainable responseâone shelter at a time.

An Entrepreneur Is The Nucleus Of An Enterprise. As a participant in such an event for the first time, it dawned on me how a manâs belief in something and constant effort to mobilize things can reach ultimately a positive and successful accomplishment. The Workshop on Research Methodology at the Lecture Gallery-2 of Dhaka Medical College convened and organized by the Young Researchers Fund (YRF), a brainchild of Organization for Social Orientation (OSO), went as was anticipated. The visionary founder president of OSO, Mr. Masud Zakaria, with the help of other young and dedicated minds, directly or remotely related with YRF, have shown their true spirit in organizing this workshop and sharing the important message on the significance of Research.
It was truly admirable how YRF had managed to communicate and convince four of the esteemed doctors, Dr. Robed Amin, Dr. Md. Ferdous Wahid, Dr. M Tarik Arafat, and Dr. Mustaq Adnanin Bangladesh, to be present and give a resourceful talk on Research Methodology from their own professional backgrounds. Each of the speakers had provided information from authentic sources and shared practical experiences sincerely in order for the participants to grasp the gist of the knowledge on Research. It was apparent from their delivery of information that how vital is to have firsthand knowledge on research which can be implemented in any fields of education or profession or even in your own passion for something.
Though targeted the keen medical students of DMC for them to learn and develop their study in medical science, Mr. Zakariaâs aim was to put an effort on the general perspective of research too. Out of that though, the workshop agenda contained general as well as medical, engineering and technological backgrounds which were relatively ensued by the learned speakersâ knowledge sharing from different angles of research necessity.
The central point of the whole workshop was to make the participants perceive the core philosophy of research. Participants had learned What, Why, How Questions such as What is Research? Why is Research Important? And How should Research be done? The speakers made all participants realize that it was imperative to contribute to the future by doing successful research on an important and useful subject.
The overall arrangement of the workshop was done quite decently of which the credit was attributed wholeheartedly to the DMC coordinator Ms. Nahida Nishat, a 5th-year medical student. Honestly, she had done a great job in communication, venue arrangement, participant registration, following up with event updates as well as in her moderating the workshop through to the end. Sitting arrangement was clean and comfortable for the participants. They were supplied necessary pen & paper for jotting down relevant notes from the speakersâ talks and their presentation slideshows. The regular lecture stage and podium were allowed for the guest speakersâsitting. A proper evening snack was served to each guest speaker and participant. At the end of the workshop, each guest speaker was handed gifts and each participant was handed a Certificate for Participation.
The event was wrapped up with the OSO president Mr. Zakariaâs short speech on his overall goal for YRF and his thankful note to each major and minor contributor to this event. The moderator concluded the workshop in a formal note.
Success is not measured upon a perfect accomplishment; rather it is a continual improvement process through identifying the by-product shortcomings of a striving workload and work on them to develop in future endeavor. Similarly, observations from the YRF Workshop on Research Methodology can be singled out which if attended carefully may produce more effective works in the future. The most effective function that should be included in such a workshop is Clear Interaction between speakers and participants for sharing questions, information, and precise understanding. Comprehensive learning for the participants should be the sole objective of such a workshop. That being said, speakers have to be prepared with resourceful accessories and information while the participants must be ready with inquisitive queries regarding Research from their learning perspectives or backgrounds. Organizers should think more about how to make such a workshop an operative event from which participants have something to take away.
Nonetheless, even with all drawbacks, organizers must not shy away to continuously arrange such events or workshops so they can improve on every new event. Someone has to start from somewhere to make the change.
