As Designers…
Our true gift isn’t just creating—it’s seeing.

Seeing potential where others see emptiness.
Seeing possibility in a blank canvas.
And turning that vision into something real, something that moves people.

That’s not just design.
That’s magic.

This Diwali, I decided to explore the intersection of global pop culture and timeless tradition. As a designer, I'm always fascinated by how new tools can help us visualize unique "what if" scenarios.

So, I asked the question: What if our favorite heroes celebrated Diwali?
Using AI generative tools, I art-directed a series of concepts imagining characters like Iron Man, Groot, Deadpool, and more partaking in the festival of lights. This wasn't just about typing a prompt; it was an iterative design process of refining concepts, curating styles, and guiding the AI to capture the specific mood, texture, and warmth that makes Diwali so special.

It’s a powerful demonstration of how AI can act as a creative partner, allowing us to bring even the most imaginative ideas to life with stunning detail. The technology is the tool, but the vision, cultural understanding, and storytelling remain a uniquely human craft.

Which hero's celebration is your favorite?
Wishing everyone a very bright and prosperous Diwali!

🐥 The Duck Costume

Ever had that dream where you show up to an exam or presentation and realize you’re completely unprepared?

For the first two years of my design career, I lived that dream.
Except in my version, I was wearing a bright yellow, fuzzy duck costume. 😅

Walking into a client meeting without believing in your own work feels exactly like that —
👉 Exposed
👉 Awkward
👉 Waiting for someone to call you a fraud.

My biggest mistake?
💭 I was waiting for someone else to tell me I wasn’t wearing a duck costume.

If you’re stuck in that same loop, here’s how to take it off — piece by piece.

---

💬 1️⃣ The Addiction to “Pats on the Back”

I used to be a validation ju**ie.
I’d hit send on a project and then refresh my inbox nonstop, desperate for that “Love it!” reply.

That praise felt amazing… for about 30 seconds.
Then I needed another hit.

The fix?
Be your own source of validation.
When you’ve wrestled with a problem, tested solutions, and given real effort — that internal yes is the only approval that truly lasts.
Everything else? Just noise. 🔇

---

👾 2️⃣ Making Friends with Your Monsters

I couldn’t validate myself because my weak spots were screaming too loud:
🗣 “You’re too slow in Illustrator.”
🗣 “Your typography sucks.”
🗣 “You’re terrible at presenting.”

Those “monsters” lost their power the moment I dragged them into the light.

Instead of self-blame, I turned them into a to-do list:
✅ “Too slow in Illustrator” → Watch one tutorial a day.
✅ “Clumsy typography” → Rebuild one admired layout each week.

Your weak spots aren’t curses — they’re a treasure map 🗺 pointing exactly where you can grow most.

---

⚡ 3️⃣ The Gut-Check Moment

You’re in a meeting.
You’ve presented your design.
And someone says, “Can we make the logo bigger?” 😬

The old you — in the duck costume — folds instantly.
“Sure, whatever you think.”

But the new you? You back yourself.
You trust your gut and calmly explain why you made that choice.

Confidence isn’t magic.
It’s not knowing everything — it’s owning your effort and defending your decisions.

---

🔓 The Unlocking

Stop waiting for an invitation to be good at your job.
Stop chasing compliments.
Face your monsters.
Back your own ideas. 💪

That’s how you finally take off the costume —
and unlock an unstoppable career. 🚀
