ভারতজুড়ে মুসলিম শাসন বিলুপ্তির একটা পটভুমি যা ডঃএ,আরব,মল্লিক তার গ্রন্থে মন্তব্য করেন-

মুলকথা-ভারতবর্ষে মুসলমানরা দীর্ঘদিন সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ অমুসলিম জনগণের সঙ্গে মিশে বসবাস করায় এবং আরব ভূমি থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন থাকার কারণে তাদের ধর্মীয় আচরণে অনেক বিচ্যুতি দেখা দেয়। অনেক হিন্দু থেকে নতুন মুসলমান হওয়ায় তাদের মধ্যে হিন্দু সংস্কৃতি ও আচরণের প্রভাব ব্যাপকভাবে পড়ে। বিশেষত, হিন্দুদের জাতিভেদ প্রথা কিছু মুসলমান গ্রহণ করে, যা ইসলামের ভ্রাতৃত্ব ও সমতার মূল মূল্যবোধকে বড় আঘাত করে।

ফলে ঊনবিংশ শতকে ভারতীয় মুসলিম সমাজ নানা দলে, গোষ্ঠীতে ও বিভাজনে জর্জরিত হয়ে দুর্বল এবং অব্যবস্থাপনায় নিমজ্জিত হয়ে পড়ে। এ অবস্থাকে ব্যাখ্যা করে ড: মুহাম্মদ ইকবাল বলেন, মুসলমানরা এত বেশি হিন্দু সংস্কৃতির প্রভাবে এসেছে যে, তারা যেন হিন্দুদেরও ছাড়িয়ে গেছে। দলগত, সামাজিক ও ধর্মীয় বৈষম্যে মুসলমান সমাজ কাবু হয়ে পড়েছে। পরাজিত জাতি যে নিরবে প্রতিশোধ নেয় এটিকে তিনি তারই একটি উদাহরণ বলে উল্লেখ করেন।

প্রত্যেক দুঃখই আল্লাহর নিকট ধৈর্য পরীক্ষা, আর প্রত্যেক ধৈর্যই বিজয় হওয়ার পরীক্ষা।
