🎉 We are thrilled to share with you the news that our Director, Professor Fiona Tomley of The Royal Veterinary College (RVC), has been awarded the prestigious Plowright Prize from RCVS - Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in recognition of her key contributions to the field of animal infectious diseases. She will use the prize fund of £100,000 to establish a network to support future leaders in infectious disease research - an ambitious and exciting scheme we all look forward to seeing realised!

We just wrapped up a fantastic 4-day on One Health training program for multi-sectoral community workers, where we shared our expertise on how to prevent and control zoonotic diseases, improve animal health and welfare, vaccinations and promote sustainable livelihoods for multi-sectoral field workers.

We are thrilled to share some photos of the meeting with Director (Extension), Department of Livestock Services (DLS) at Dhaka, and One Health Community Engagement Stakeholder’s Meeting-03 followed by two days long training workshop for the community service providers (Animal, Human health, Environment, disaster management NGOs, etc.) at Coxs Bazar. It was indeed very successful events jointly hosted by OHPH, CVASU, and ACDI-VOCA. It has been such an honor to be a part of those wonderful events. OHPH, Bangladesh would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed guests, participants, and facilitators. A very special thanks to Professor Robyn Alders (Senior Consulting Fellow, Global Health Programme, Chatham House, UK;Honorary Professor, Development Policy Centre, Australian National University) for making the event a grand success.

A glimpse of Impact assessments training session(s) for the Broiler and Sonali farmers at Chandonaish Upazila, of Chattogram conducted by One Health Poultry Hub, CVASU team held on 9-13 December. We found a very good impression of the farmer's behavior, knowledge, and attitude towards scientific poultry farming. We are committed to achieving sustainable poultry production and distribution to reduce disease risks for both animals and people.

Last Wednesday (November 29) PoultryTechBangladesh hosted a Feed-milling workshop in collaboration with Van Aarsen followed by a stakeholder networking dinner. The workshop mainly focused on Energy efficient feed milling practices and safe poultry production and distribution practices. Representatives from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands, Larive International, LightCastle Partners, and noteworthy players in the Bangladesh poultry sector such as the Kazi Farms Group, Meghna Group, Aftab Bahumukhi Farms Ltd., Paragon Poultry and Provita Group were present at the event.

We are delighted to see that our Research Manager attended in a workshop jointly organized by PoultryTech Bangladesh, Light Castle Partners, and Larine International in Dhaka and joined a discussion on previous and ongoing activities by One Health Poultry Hub, Bangladesh and presented key study findings on “Mapping of Dressed and Processed Poultry Products in Bangladesh“ conducted by the OHPH,B.

Poultry farmer training in Bangladesh: An initiative to explore farmers’ knowledge - One Health Poultry Hub
A field-level farmer training programme has improved farmer understanding of biosecurity and more - as well as bringing about changed attitudes to veterinarians.

We are very happy to see that Hub researcher Anne Conan from City University of Hong Kong and Saira Butt from the Royal Veterinary College( RVC), UK have been conducting the Risk analysis workshop at CVASU. Our team members are continuing to work with them on the Access dataset, cleaning and analyses of ODK data generated from the poultry farm, Morbidity, and Interface studies .

Glempse of ongoing Impact assesments broiler farmers(one by one) training session(s) at Mirsharai Upazila by One Health Poultry Hub, CVASU team. We have found some positive changes among the farmers behaviour, knowledge and attitude towards scientific poultry farming.
