Chattogram, 10 October 2025:
On the occasion of World Mental Health Day 2025, a discussion session was held at the Chattogram District Council Auditorium, organized jointly by the Public Health Department, USTC, and the Department of Narcotics Control. This year’s theme was: “Mental Health in the Context of Disaster and Emergency: Access to Services and Rights.”

The event was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Mohammad Solaiman, Vice-Chancellor of USTC.
The session was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Shafiul Hasan, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, USTC.

The chief guest of the program was Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Honorable Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation, a distinguished physician and social worker.
Special guests included Dr. Fazle Rabbi, Director of Chattogram Health Department; Shahjada Syed Irfanul Haque, Managing Trustee of Darul Irfan Research Institute; and Dr. Ashfaq Al Arif Shovon, Additional Manager, Pharma Division, Renata PLC.

The welcome speech was delivered by Professor Pronoy Kumar Majumdar, Head of the Public Health Department, USTC.

The keynote paper was presented by Dr. Shuvro Prokash Dutta, Assistant Professor, Public Health Department, USTC.

Speakers emphasized that mental health is no longer a neglected issue—especially during disasters and emergency situations, maintaining psychological well-being is crucial. Timely support and awareness are key to sustaining mental health.

The event was attended by doctors, teachers, students, members of various professions, and IAHS students, both Bangladeshi and international participants.

🌿 Tree Plantation Program at IAHS 🌿

On 11 September 2025, the Rotaract Club of IAHS organized a Tree Plantation Program on our campus as part of Green Week 2025, in collaboration with all medical Rotaract clubs under the initiative of the Rotaract Club of Medical Community.

We were honored by the presence of our Principal, Prof. Dr. Rama Barua, and our Director, Prof. Dr. Badiul Alam, whose gracious participation encouraged and inspired everyone.

We sincerely appreciate the dedicated efforts of the Rotaract Club of IAHS and the enthusiastic involvement of our students and faculty members, whose contributions ensured the success of this meaningful event.
