Special Uses Of Words & Phrase

1. was born + সাল/তারিখ.
Ex: Nazrul was born in 1899

2.have to/has to/had to + v1. (অবশ্যই করা বুঝাবে)
Ex: We have to say our prayer.

3.would rather.........then.(বরং.....চেয়ে)
R2ঃ sub1+would rather+sub2+v2.
Ex:? I would rather die then beg.
Ex: I would rather you returned the book in the evening.

4.had better + V1.(করা উচিত বুঝাতে)
Ex:It may rain.you had better take a umbrella.

5.let alone. (চিন্তায় করা যায় না এমন বুঝাতে)
Ex:I can't buy a shirt let alone a suit.

6.Lest+sub+should/might+V1.
Ex: Walk fast lest you should miss the train.

7.Would you mind+v.ing+?(অনুরোধ বুঝাতে).
Ex:Would you mind opening the door.?

8.what if+affermative sentence+.?
Ex:What if you fain in the exam.?

9.what does.......look like.
Ex:what does an alien look like.

10.what is it like+v.ing+.? (অনুভূতি বুঝায়).
Ex:what is it like swimming in the river.?

11.so that + sub + can/could + V1.
Ex:He worked hard so that he could succeed in life.

12.No sooner had....... than. (no sooner সবসময় বাক্যের শুরুতে বসে).
Ex:No sooner had we reached the station than the train left.

13.It is time/it is high time/it is about time + past indefinite.
Ex:It is high time you left this place.

14.present + as if/as though + past.
past + as if/as though + past perfect Ex:He talks as if he knew everything.

15. sub + be used to/get used to/can not help + v.ing.

16.as soon as(যখনি) + clause + clause.
Ex:As soon as he saw me,he left the place.

17.It(ইহা)+ verb + obj.
Ex: It may rain today.

18.There(সেখানে) + verb + phrase + ext.
Ex: There live an honest man.

১) কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম :
পাড়ার ছেলে নজরুল ৯৯ তম ইনিংসে ৭৬ রান করলো। অর্থাৎ জন্ম-১৮৯৯,
মৃত্যু -১৯৭৬।

২) রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর:
রবীন্দ্রনাথের গানের সংখ্যা ছিল ৬১৪১।
অর্থাৎ জন্ম- ১৮৬১ মৃত্যু- ১৯৪১

৩) বেগম রোকেয়া:
রোকেয়া ৮০ তে হাসতে হাসতে ৩২ টি পান খেলো। জন্ম- ১৮৮০ মৃত্যু- ১৯৩২

৪) জীবনানন্দ দাশ:
জীবনানন্দ ৯৯ টি প্রপোজ করে ৫৪ টি গোলাপ পেল। জন্ম- ১৮৯৯ মৃত্যু- ১৯৫৪

৫) মোতাহের হোসেন:
মোতাহের হোসেন ৩টি বৃক্ষ কিনলেন ৫৬ টাকায়। জন্ম- ১৯০৩ মৃত্যু- ১৯৫৬

৬) সোফিয়া কামাল:
সোফিয়া ১১টি গোলাপের দাম ৯৯টাকা শুনে অবাক। জন্ম- ১৯১১ মৃত্যু- ১৯৯৯

৭) আহসান হাবীব:
আহসান হাবীব ১৭টি গান গেয়ে ৮৫ হাজার টাকা পেল। জন্ম- ১৯১৭ মৃত্যু- ১৯৮৫।
